I am happy to announce that Ms. Teresa Renteria will be joining the MHS staff as the R-V counselor. Ms. Renteria will start to work on February 21, 2011. If parents need help in the meantime they can contact any one of our counselors.
The counselors are going into classrooms to begin spring registration for the 2011-2012 school year. Look for information(*registration form, most recent transcripts, info sheet on **how to access course register) coming home with your students.
These are the dates by class level that counselors are presenting to students:
Sophomores- February 10-11
Juniors- February 14, 16
Freshman (MFHS) March 9-10
On these dates, counselors are going over what classes students have as options for next year. Parents and students will need to be able to access the course description guide online this year. The course register can be found on our website on the front page or you can find it by clicking here.
Please note: All students are required to select 7 courses for next year. Senior waivers will be granted over the summer after reviewing attendance, credits and TAKS scores. Proper paperwork must be submitted in time for waivers to be considered. Students that do not select 7 courses will be assigned a full load of 7 courses by counselors.
Sincerely,
Jeff Horner
Principal
