An interview with Anne Kern 


A must-see event, and just so close to you! The classic movie by Renoir, Grand Illusion (La grande illusion) has been fully restored for its 75th anniversary, a work hailed by the likes of Martin Scorsese. Our own and unique Professor Anne Kern will conduct the post-film discussion at the Avon Theatre in Stamford, where it will be screened as part of the French Cinémathèque, Thursday, September 20th, at 7:30 pm. FDR said that all democracies of the world should see this film, so don't miss it!


Can you tell us how exciting it is to see this great classic with that amazing, clean-look restoration?

New York Film Festival
Current French movies in the City later this month

For its 50th anniversary, NYFF will be at Lincoln Center, offering some of the best of international cinema, among them French movies, from September 28 to October 14. You will have the opportunity to watch, in the Main Slate, Amour, Camille Rewinds (Camille redouble), Holy Motors, Our Children (A perdre la raison) for its North American Premiere, Something in the air(Après Mai) and the latest Alain Resnais with an amazing ensemble cast: You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (Vous n'avez encore rien vu). The festival also features a rich variety of lectures, special screenings and Q&A, where French movies and talents are also well-represented.
