If you are in town in August, and already longing for French movies, here is a program for you!  An amazing Claude Sautet retrospective in NYC (don't miss our favorite ever Un Coeur en hiver, bien-sûr ), the Rhode Island International Film Festival, with no less than 20 French movies, a great French Cinematheque screening in Stamford, CT, not to mention Cinema on the rooftop in NYC .

Claude Sautet Series at Lincoln Center

August 1st-16
Claude Sautet's masterful movies include classics such as Max et les ferrailleurs and Un coeur en hiver, as well as Une histoire simple (A Simple Story), nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards. Known for rejuvenating Romy Schneider's career in the 70s, the list of actors Sautet worked with until his death in 2000 is more than impressive. Rhode Island International Film Festival
August 7th-12th 
 

This International Film Festival, now in its 16th year, will take place August 7th - 12. Among the large selection, 20 movies and shorts from France will be presented.
