This video has beenFocus on French Cinema 2012 shot and edited by one of our Purchase College Interns, Matthew Tascone, student in Film Conservatory. Bravo Matthew ! Every year, students from our host College are filming   the Gala and the 3 day weekend of the festival as part of our partnership with Purchase . More Intern positions are available: we'll talk more about it in the fall.

The 9th edition of FOCUS ON FRENCH CINEMA will take place March 8-10, 2013, at the Performing Arts Center - Purchase College. We cannot wait to see you there and bring a new selection of French movies and great events along this three day weekend!

You might be traveling this summer to Europe and happen to be close to these places, or maybe you'd just would like to follow what's going on at these festivals: 

  • June 20-July 1: Edinburgh International Film Festival (Scotland)
  • June 29 - July 7 FimfestMunchen (Munich,Germany)  
  • July 6 - 14: Neuchâtel Fantastic Film Festival (Switzerland)
  • August 1-11: Locarno Festival del Film (Switzerland).
  • August 15-18: The Norwegian International Film Festival Haugesund
  • Aug 29-Sept 8: Venice International Film Festival (Italy)

    - Xavier Dolan, who we screened the first movie in 2011 How I killed my mother has won the "Queer Palm" for Laurence Anyway. This prize awards the best Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender movie at the Cannes Festival ! What next Xavier?
