Greetings!

I hope this finds well and looking forward to nature's beauty this time of year. One minute it is summer and then in the blink of an eye fall is upon us. All is good with Ruth and I. We are developing new TYJ products for 2012 which is always exciting.

I've had the pleasure of working with some wonderful individuals throughout my professional career. Recently, in a variety of conversations, I've found myself referencing a quote that was shared with me years ago by my boss and friend, Bob Masin. On numerous occasions in meetings or brainstorming sessions, he would say, "A high tide raises all boats." I have to confess that in those days I would look at him and think, "You have got to be kidding." But today I understand and appreciate that metaphor, which is attributed to John F. Kennedy. He was simply telling us that helping a person or an account be all that they can be would in turn help us become a better company. He believed in the potential of every individual and reminded us often by using this quote.

Each and every day we have opportunities to lift someone's spirit or share his/her journey in some meaningful way. The ripple effect of the simplest act of kindness can be incredibly far-reaching. Despite the original quote's origin in the political arena, I believe it's better suited to life in general. I think we all have a stake in helping each other find our greater good in this world. Thanks, Bob, for a lesson finally learned. The seed you planted took a while to germinate, but the timing is perfect.

"Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end." ~Scott Adams

Letters Sharing the Journey

Letter from Paige, a new friend of Trust Your Journey:

Beth,

I'm 21 and when I was 19 I had a motorcycle accident. I hit deer riding home and I was flown to Deconess in Evansville, Indiana. I had 5 brain surgeries and I was in a coma for 6 months. I have a shunt and a titanium plate in my brain. They had to remove apart of my skull too. I am completely different than I was before the accident. Life can be perfect and all of a sudden it can flip over. I just wish that people could realize when they are having a bad day that it could be worse. I wish that people could keep hope.
Trusting the journey...

Paige
