Crosstrain A Success
Impact Jiu Jitsu held it's
final crosstrain of the year last Saturday, December 5, in Beaverton. All three
training floors were packed with grapplers from both the Beaverton and Newberg
gyms. A few grapplers from New Breed Academy and Nemesis Jiu Jitsu also came
out to train. If you have not been coming to the crosstrains, you are missing
out on a great opportunity. There are plenty of people to train with, including
many you probably have never grappled before. Seaside Jiu Jitsu was
planning on coming out, but the unexpected icy roads kept them at the
beach. We will crosstrain with them soon.
Belt Promotions The crosstrain ended with three new belt promotions. Matt Leech and Brian Walsh
were promoted to Brown Belt and JT Horner was promoted to Purple Belt.
Congratulations goes out to them.
Matt Leech is a co-owner of the Newberg
Impact Jiu Jitsu. He is very hard to control while grappling. Matt
does a great job of moving and avoiding positions that are disadvantageous to
him.
Brian Walsh has had an ankle injury for the past few weeks, but that
has not stopped him from coming to classes to keep his mind sharp. He teaches
the 7 a.m. BJJ class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Beaverton, which has
received much praise.
JT has been with Impact Jiu Jitsu for a couple
years. He is a great addition to the gym. His wrestling and no-gi skills, which
he likes to demonstrate in the advanced divisions of tournaments, are terrific.
Congratulations once again to these guys!!!

Holiday Party The
annual Impact Jiu Jitsu and Performance Training holiday party was also held on
Saturday, December 5. Approximately 150 people came together at Papa's Pizza in
Beaverton. It was a great opportunity to hang out with gym friends outside
of the gym.
Many pizzas were eaten and many kids played on the big jungle
gym (and some adults too). Certificates were presented to the recently promoted
Black Belts: Keisuke Andrew, Cameron Apple, Armand Debruge, and Eric Jetton.
The coaches and everyone who makes the gym run smoothly were warmly thanked for
their dedication and hard work.
Thank you to all of you who came out and made
it a great success!

Weather Challenges
Whenever
weather conditions become challenging, the safety of our
members and staff is of the utmost importance.
As a protocol, our gyms will follow their local school district's lead in regard to opening / closing. If the local school district closes due to weather, then Impact Jiu Jitsu will NOT run instructional classes that day. To confirm if the gym is closed, you can call the gym's phone at 503-537-0104 in Newberg, 503-350-3926 in Beaverton.
If
nothing is noted, then you can assume that we are running classes as
normal.
