It is designed to be lightheart and social. Members can bring a friend as long as they are single. - Conscious Connections is combined with Singles Mingle above. We are continuing to combine this group (for everyone attached or single) with the Singles Mingle. This group is for all people, single or attached who would like to meet other like minded people for lighthearted conversation and socialising. - Wellbeing Circle (previously called the "Healing Day") on 22nd January. A variety of spiritual connections members will be available to provide a 20 minute sample of their modality/therapy for $10 a sample. Come along and try out the different healing styles available.

For more information, visit the interest group here.Becoming More SensitiveThe race to 2012 is characterised by a swift raising of vibration or frequency (these terms are used interchangeably). Our multidimensional bodies are being all brought into the here and now rather than being scattered through past lives and existences on other planets and other realms. The old limitting patternings from past and future generations are being removed from our cells and our energy bodies and our energy fields are becoming lighter, brighter and more expansive. It is becoming very uncomfortable for us to exist within our old boxes and in the old paradigms.
As our vibration raises and our DNA changes, emotions of fear, anger, depression etc all move out through our emotional bodies and our other multidimensional layers. Our inter-family and inter-community relationships are being put through their paces and eventually clensed and harmonised.
One of the most subtle, yet somehow most difficult to manage changes and probably the one noticed first is that we become more sensitive. We become sensitive to any disharmony in our environment, our bodies, our relationships, our foods and even in peoples intentions and attitudes. These disharmonies become much more obvious, as if they have been amplified. This is for several reasons. The main reason is because we are becoming more able to sense on the subtle levels as our vibration increases so in essence it is your gift that is causing your sensitivity and your sensitivty is your gift. You are also reclaiming abilities that the human brain has always had but not generally been used. These gifts/sensitivities are also your compass or your GPS to your own direction in life, your souls purpose in this time.
People experience their sensitivity/gift in many different ways depending on their primary souls purpose. While some people are sensitive to social interaction and will get physical and emotional symptoms from being around others who are not genuine in their conversation or intentions, other will develop an empathic ability. You can be emotionally or physically empathic or both which means that you can feel in your own body the feeling and physical symptoms of others as if they are yours. When this occurs, it can be very difficult to tell when the symptoms are yours or someone elses. You may be picking up on the condition of someobody in your energy field (Same room or house of suburb, depending how much you have expanded) or the condition of somebody who you have a strong connection (or etheric cord to) such as a family member or close friend/lover.
As these symptoms creep up on us over months or years, we are not used to looking for these kind of things and are usually under the illusion that it is us who is depressed. It can take years of learning to listen to your body and energy field to be able to discern the difference. When you can discern the difference there are easy steps for you to take in order to release it from your energy field so that you are expressing your light and not taking the symptoms or conditions on as your own. Those who are empaths tend to be inherently healers. This means that you are feeling these feelings to tell you that there is an issue that somebody has that you can work with. It doesn't mean you have to go around healing everyone you feel, although eventually you may be doing this just by shining your light and allowing the lower frequency energies to move out of your field (which is rather large so everybody connecting with it is getting a healing). The symptoms you are feeling however are in your inbox, they are information for you, telling you that you have work to do here if you accept it. You then organise it into yes, no and later piles. You will find that once you have listened to the message and organised it, it will no longer bother you.There is a common misconception that those who are sensitive are often told. This was relevant in the old paradigm but is not useful as we are moving into a higher vibration reality: "you must protect yourself by covering yourself in white light". You cannot protect yourself from feeling these symtpoms as they are your messenger, your gift. The idea of protection is based on fear and disempowerment (lower vibration than you already are) and as you raise your vibration you begin to become aware of your power and gifts. Welcome to the brand new year, the year of the black water dragon - 2012. The year that has been on everyones mind as long as we can remember, the predicted year of disaster or of heaven on earth! I prefer the heaven on earth reality and can already see this all around me. Whatever 2012 will bring, it will take a lot to live up to our expectations! Check out the Dragon Year article below.
There is an interest group already existing for those of you who wish to add your 2012 insights or any insights about spiritual evolution that you have brought through yourself or seen on other sites and you feel are worth sharing. It is called Spiritual Ascension. We have added a new interest group especially for our own insights called Practical Evolution, you can get updates by joining here. We have also added a new section in the newsletter for updates on the spiritual changes and how these effect us on a practical level (see Tracy's "Practical Evolution" section).

The Mighty Dragon

THE year 2011 was marred by so many tragedies and disasters - maybe because of the slash symbol of 2011 (1-11-11 and 11-11-11) which according to Chinese beliefs are inauspicious and unfortunate.
Now comes 2012, the year of the water dragon which according to Raymond Lo, professional Feng Shui researcher and practitioner, may bring destructive and conflict relationship like what the year of the Rabbit (2011) brought.
Since the element of this year of the Dragon is water, the energy of water is strong in 2012. This year's Dragon is a yang year so Yang water is like a flowing river, things will move, ideas flow, creativity abound, economies boom, and love blossom in this environment. It is likely to be an exciting year indeed.
On the hand, because there are conflicting elements involved in the Dragon year (water sitting on top of the earth), Lo said there can be more conflicts and struggles. The yang water symbolizes the ocean, it can be an element of power, forces and strong energy. It could be the destructive force of nature, such as the tsunami, it can be the impulse and drive to press for social, political and economic changes.
Lo cited past dragon years that brought disasters and havoc like flooding and earthquakes. Yang water is powerful ocean water, and Dragon is powerful earth, very often associated with earthquakes.
The most serious earthquake on record happened in the years of Dragon: (water dragon year) April 11, 1952, magnitude 8.2 in Kamchatka, USSR and July 21, 1952, magnitude 7.5 in California; (wood dragon year) March 27, 1964 magnitude 9.2 in Alaska and June 16, 1964 magnitude 7.6 in Niigata, Japan; (fire dragon year) July 28, 1976, magnitude 7.8 in Tangshan, China; (earth dragon year) August 21, 1988, Magnitude 6.6 in Nepal and December 7, 1988, magnitude 6.9 in Leninakan, Russia; (metal dragon year) November 25, 2000, magnitude 7 in Azerbaijan and June 4, 2000, magnitude 7.9 in Sumatra.
On the positive side, this year demands consideration because water will nourish the Dragon's fixed element - wood - giving a big advantage when it comes to bringing good luck. The same holds true for accomplishment. If you know your element sign, (especially if it is wood), you will do fairly this year, fare better than other animal signs. On the other hand, those born in a Fire element are likely to do worse. It's also slightly negative for those born in an Earth year and mildly positive for Metal sign people. Finally, those born in a Water year will be in their element and do well if their animal sign is compatible with the Dragon.
This year's color of Water is related to black and the reigning animal according to Chinese astrology calendar is Black Water Dragon. 2012 Black Water Dragon contains Earth, Water and Wood elements and it can also mean water from the sky that can make a dam overflow. CHINESE consider the dragon as a legendary animal, a symbol of the emperor and one of the most auspicious animals in China. It is coated with mysterious color, unpredictable, untouchable, noble, mystic - people cannot see its head and tail at the same time. The most powerful dragon is the five-clawed dragon. It appears only on the yellow imperial robe. A person with too many dragons in his birth chart will become smarter, sly and unpredictable. We have witnessed what the Tiger (2010) and Rabbit (2011) can bring. Because Dragon is untouchable, mysterious and unpredictable, one can have either good luck or bad luck this year and will have a chance to turn it into better or worse luck. Since the Chinese astrology calendar is basically governed by elements, you have to identify the lucky element in your animal sign to understand your fate and destiny this year. The Lucky Element is the major factor to determine people's fortune. 2012 is the Year of Black Water Dragon, which contains Earth, Water and Wood. If your Lucky Element is Earth, Water or Wood, then 2012 will bring you some degree of luck. Since 2012 is Water Dragon, people whose lucky element is Water will benefit more in 2012. Fire is the opposite element of Water. People whose lucky element is Fire will have more impact in 2012. If you know your lucky element, you can glimpse what the Black Dragon may bring you: * Metal. When Metal is under Water. People cannot see the Metal, unless they watch carefully into Water. Water can protect Metal, so 2012 is fine for them. Your social life will increase. You will have many opportunities to show your talent. People will talk about you. If you have a positive attitude, then you should earn a good reputation from people. If you don't have a strong mind and don't have confidence about yourself, then people might not paint you in the same light. More than likely, taking care of such a busy life will consume your energy when you have many activities with people. If your Metal is weak, then you will receive the help from people who support you. They also give you compliments about your behavior. * Water. Nothing can stop the luck from coming to you. You can feel it and people can see good luck over you all the time. You will get lots of courage and support from your siblings or friends. If you are doing business, then your friends or business partners will help you to bring in more income. If Water is your Unlucky Element, then your friends or relatives will bring you trouble. They might ask for a loan, or you may be forced to spend money on them. If your Water is strong, then your friends will provide you different advice or suggestions very often. Those opinions can confuse you and lead you to make the wrong decision or investment. If you cannot please your friends, then they may bring you a bad reputation. In general, you will have a mixed reputation in 2012. * Wood. Water can help the Wood grow. That means Wood can become strong with the support of Water. Since the Dragon year is strong, a Wood can be uprooted and carried away by the strong current of water. Luckily, Dragon contains Earth and Wood, which can help Wood survive in the Water. * Fire. Fire is afraid of Water. When too much Water comes, then Fire has a chance to be extinguished. That implies many pressures will come in 2012. Fire might be related to money, career, reputation or health. This is a year to watch for safety. Water may bring pressure to Fire. This is not a good sign for career and health unless you have very strong Fire in the birth chart. If you are a woman, then this is a year for love relationship. If you are lucky, then it might end up a marriage. * Earth. Lots of Water can flush away Earth and make Water dirty. Luckily, Dragon contains Earth. Therefore, the luck of 2012 cannot last too long, but the opportunity is always around. You will have better luck between the change of seasons. Water is afraid of Earth. Earth brings pressure on Water. So Earth represents law, career, boss or position. If you have a lot of Water in the birth chart, then Dragon will bring a job opportunity. If you waste money in spending, Dragon will give you advice on how to save money. If someone wants to borrow money from you, then sometimes Dragon will help you to say no. If you have a little Water in the birth chart, your friends and siblings will fully support you when you face trouble in career, argument or lawsuit. If you have strong Earth in your birth chart, then money opportunity is around you all year long. Your income, investment and wealth will increase quickly. But if you have a weak Earth in the birth chart, then money trouble will come to you soon. Therefore you shouldn't do any risky investments. There is no easy money. We have entered a new era and we are somehow all affected by it. 2012 the year of the Dragon, the strongest earth energy. Mother Earth is claiming back the power of her feminine energy hence it is essential to clear up our relationship sector to support this process. This area is representing the mother, wife and general feminine energy. This will create more balance in our lives. We need to understand that we need to have a good relationship with ourselves before we can expect to have a good relationship with others. This we can achieve by respecting, nurturing and loving ourselves. This has nothing to do with ego and selfishness it purely allows us to be happy and content with ourselves. This means we no longer rely on others to make us happy. We can meet partners, children, parents, friends and associates without expectations and enjoy their company. Take a good look at the relationship sector of your home/office. Take some time to sit in this area and ask yourself the following questions: - Do I feel comfortable in this area
- Is it relaxing to be in this area
- Do I feel rejuvenated when leaving this area
If the answer to these questions is yes, your relationship sector is balanced. If the answer to one or more questions is no, look around you and note if there anything you would like to change in this area. Here are some tips if this sector needs balancing: - Remove anything object / artwork that represents Water (the colour blue and black, water features, water pictures/paintings).

- Any item or artwork that when looking at it for a few minutes makes you wonder why it is there. What may have been perfect 10 years ago, is no longer serving the same purpose. We need to surround ourselves with energy that benefits and serves us in our present state of existence.
- The best colours for this area are brown, beige, sand, and reds. Crystals are very beneficial in this sector.

Mosaic Artworks 
I am happiest creating originals of a spiritul nature, I love working with symbols, most of all I love unveiling a finished piece and feeling the amazing energies that have been created in the process.
I also love recycling. Turning some thing unwanted into something treasured. Like and old drum into a coffee table, or an old wooden toilet seat into a garden feature etc
There are so many uses for mosaic. I mosaic with various materials including, crystals, shells, tiles, mirror, stained glass, broken china etc.
I have been fortunate enough to have some of my art in exhibitions around the coast.
I have some work on consignment in shops around the area and also have displayed at local art markets.
Mosaic Classes
What started as a hobby for me about 6years ago, seems to have become a little more. It was not my plan, just the way lifes pathway lead me. It started by visitors to my home offering to buy my mosaics they saw around the house. Orders being placed, and then being asked to teach. The classes kicked off in 2011, I enjoyed them so much, it is such a thrill to share in the pleasure of a students finished art work. I now teach from my home in Umina Beach.
Goddess Gatherings
The last 3 years I have been holding monthly Goddess Gatherings from my home, my intension for
these gatherings was to create a safe and nurturing space for like minded women, to connect, learn, share and promote women in our community. It was actually through the encouragement of the women at these gatherings that I began teaching mosaic. We forged many friendships, shared lots of lauughs, and found support through our hardships. Now, the time has come for these women to step up and shine their light out into the community, creating the ripple effect, and for me to focus my energies into something new.

WHAT DOES YOUR HEART YEARN FOR IN 2012?

The good news is that there is a new optimism for visions that you may have struggled to manifest in 2011 as the planetary energies support expansion and forward movement (Christmas day, Jupiter and Mercury began to move forwards). Time to clear the slate and move into 2012 with clear direction and focus. I share here a practice that I do each end of each year. It allows me to move forward, refreshed and ready to create anew in 2012.

An important first step is to begin by completing on what you've created in 2011The universal Law of creation states that we are creating our reality - everything in our lives, the people the situations and physical environments we are in, are drawn to us from some level of our Being, in each moment. The energies of our words, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, feelings and emotions are directed in each moment onto a blank canvas of possibility. The Qantum laws of physics operate to manifest our creations from these energies. Bringing conscious awareness, as the alert "observer" of the energies you are putting out is the key to manifesting what you want. Reflect on your creations in 2011The influxes of high energies in 2011 have affected everyone in some way. It's been described as a challenging year by many. The light frequencies of energy illuminate areas of our lives needing our attention - to resolve unresolved energies of the past that limit our growth and evolution. The key is to rise above the details and to review what's occurred from the higher perspective. Then you'll see many blessings. What is cause for you to celebrate? What do you to let go, that no longer serves you? What have you learned from the challenges that are helping you to evolve?
"COMPLETION" PRACTICE - prepare to move into the new, refreshed and ready to create anew in 2012.1.Take time out to create a space of stillness and quiet within. Have your journal or pen and paper handy 2.Consider: What have been your (more obvious) opportunities and blessings? Record these. 3. Consider: What have been your challenges? Take the higher perspective to reflect on the learnings and wisdom that you have received? There are always positives to find in each situation, however uncomfortable at the time. On our journey of growth and evolution of consciousness we become more of who we truly are by resolving the old limitations. Record all of these. 4. Continue to add to the list as things come to mind. 5. Prior to New Year take timeout to create a ceremonial offering of thanks for everything on your list. You might choose to light a candle in a space you create in your own special way, as sacred. From an open-hearted state of "Presence" offer gratitude to your guides and to all the people and situations listed. 6. If there are any unresolved energies you become aware of as feeling incomplete, surrender them by asking your guides to assist you to let go of the past. Breathe them out with love and intention. You may choose to list them separately and ceremonially burn the list. 7. Take time to feel the open-hearted unconditional love that gratitude and appreciation invokes. Acknowledge yourself for all that has occurred on the journey this year. This is an act of love to yourself Remember that the energies of love, gratitude and abundance hold the same frequencies. As the Law of Attraction suggests, you become a magnet attracting these energies you hold.
You are now ready to embrace the new and what your heart desires for 2012
Leap Year
Last leap year 29th Feb 2008
I reached out to gently place my hand on his chest, aware that this touch was now almost forbidden. This chest no longer belonged to me, with its flat strong suppleness and masculine strength, this chest that had been 'mine' for 4 years, to bury my head in, to tickle the soft curls that lay there, to draw into each night to sleep. Now my senses were acutely aware of how this touch felt, as if awakening a memory from the long distant past. I held my hand over his heart. It took all my courage to find my stillness to make this contact. It would have been so easy to indulge the wounded part of myself that wanted to scream out in pain, but I needed to feel him, feel him beyond the betrayal that had hurt me so deeply, feel him beyond his words, his clumsy human justifications, and feel him beyond his emotional wall he had erected from all that had occurred between us. I needed to feel him in his soul.
We sat on the floor, legs crossed facing each other gathering as much openness as we each could in this moment, the music in the background was some band he had seen lately doing a cover of an old Bob Marley song, a song that would later replay over and over in my conscious mind as a message of this time. I held my hand over the centre of his chest, his heart and the seat of his soul and i listened. Neither of us spoke , we had a communication that lay beyond words, we always had. From the moment we met one leap year ago, we communicated as two souls that had come together again and remembered. We listened to each other in those first moments of meeting and saw our path unfold infront of us. Now in this moment I listened and felt the joy of the freedom of his soul, and inherent in that, the completion of our path together. For him it was an expansiveness, like the clichéd bird who has flown the confines of its cage, it was his soul searching to expand and know itself through non-restraint. There was no sadness, no grief, both strong residents in my own heart, only the uncompromising need for freedom and self expression. He would no longer be my husband, tethered to me and our family, this much was devastatingly clear. As i was processing this, there was a flash, a girl child, one who is yet to come. She was dark and soft, brown sparkling eyes and hair in soft curls around her face, a Mediterranean feel about her. She flashed across my vision as my left hand still sat gently on his heart. I have seen her before, many times. She is the daughter i will bring into this world, the one i always thought would come through my union with my husband. She chose to come at this moment and her message was as swift as her appearance, Spain, Camino de Santiago, a sense of being there, a sense of needing to go there, and she was gone. What this meant, beyond the obvious travel directive, my mind was grappling at. I still wanted her to be fathered by this man in front of me which was becoming rapidly apparent was not the course my life would be taking. Did her appearance now show a hope for the future? Would i reunite with this soul mate to bring in this child? I was full of questions. In my heart of hearts i knew the child was my hope, and mine alone, at least for now. My consciousness returning to the room we were sitting in suddenly received the sounds around me and the words and music came floating to me, "everything's going to be all right now, everything's going to be all right now" and our son comes forward. I Had been oblivious to his movements until that point, he comes up and smiles "everything's gonna be all right now mama". No woman, no cry.

Story Telling and Energy Healing 
The universe is alive and communicative.
We are surrounded by maps and guidance: the spirals in our fingerprints, the lines in our palms, the markings in irises, the stars when we were born, even the configuration of tea leaves in our teacup.
Stories are everywhere.
Every memory is a story. Every object. Even our bodies are dynamic ever-changing systems of interdependent and overlapping narratives of our desires, feelings and experiences.
We leave our energetic imprints on the universe through these stories.
And we have a choice of which stories we focus on, and how we tell these stories to ourselves: how we interpret them, how we ascribe meaning and value, how we use our stories to test and formulate and constantly reimprint our beliefs.
Indeed, we condition our future every time we create (or recreate) our pasts.
As Jacques Derrida once wrote: "Inheritance is never a given; it is always a task. It remains before us."
After 25 years as a writer (mainly of fiction, poetry and cultural history), in the last year I've also started taking on clients as an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting practitioner.
In many ways it has been like stepping into another world, and in other ways it has been an enormously satisfying and natural progression.
For while EFT is a technique that anyone can use, working on the more knotty issues with clients I find that my long history of attention to and play with language really helps.
Language is powerful, a form of magic. And the extraordinary stories within each of us, and that so often shape us, usually contain a wealth of metaphors, patterns, images and themes.
I love the way a good Matrix Reimprinting session can be even more thrilling and fun and moving than going to an amazing movie - because it is your movie, completely unique to you.
And with EFT and Matrix Reimprinting you are able to freeze the action at any point, step into the picture, and change it.
With EFT you can comfort and aid your younger self, for instance, and with your imagination you can resource the people in your story in ways that simply were not available to them at the time. As such you can allow the story to play out in a different way, with new lessons, and thus new beliefs: tapping this story into your body and then sending it out energetically into the universe.
I love this process.
As a post-structuralist historian I came to see a long time ago that ultimately there is no objective truth or reality, only stories and perspectives - that is, relational or inter-subjective truths.
And that these serve us best when we evaluate them not just according to whether they correspond with what we already 'know' or believe, but according to something more: their coherence and honesty.
What matters to me -- as a cultural historian, a fiction writer, and as a Matrix Reimprinting practitioner -- is the deep integrity of a story.
As practices, writing and EFT are both enormously creative. They give us the space to focus, reflect and revise. They can give us the courage and techniques to go into the heart of a memory or story, and if we have a willingness and openness to seeing things differently, they give us the ability to learn anew: to change our stories, let go of what has been weighing us down, sift out the lessons, and let the rest go.
And, through this, they help us to move forward and create something quite wonderful with our lives.
Clearing Space and Mind

Taking responsibility for what is happening in our life is the first step in becoming a Master. The gurus, lamas, shamans and kahunas have known this for thousands of years and it is time that everyone will claim these responsibilities and powers. How can we make changes in our surroundings when our body and mind has blockages regarding a positive outcome? Our believe patterns are stronger than our conscious will to create changes in our life. As much as we need to clear our space around us, it is essential to clear our mind. This will support us in moving into these higher vibrations that everyone is talking about. I love the way Nature gives me stories..and then provides me with reassurance that I'm not insane..
The last story given to me by Nature was aboout a lovable leech called Larry who lives in Katandra Reserve...after writing the story I was mulling over whether Nature really wanted this story out there and could leeches really be perceived as lovable??
I asked for a sign and within 4minutes of going outside there was a leech on my big toe. Instead of flicking him off...whhhheeeeee.....I sat with him for an hour and 20 minutes while he sucked and munched, sucked and munched.....And you know what? Leeches aren't scary at all! They are actually very interesting fellows..did you know they only feed once a year, and they never take more then they need only enough to survive, and they are very careful not to inflict pain. They really can be very lovable indeed! Another example of fear...false evidence appearing real...seriously maligning the reputation of one of mother nature's children.
