Welcome to the September Edition of the Spiritual Connections newsletter. We now have 280 members on the interactive site (and thousands of additional members on facebook and receiving the newsletter).

Featured Member Introducing Amelia Sayers   Many thanks to Tracy for featuring me and my gifts as the featured member this month on Spiritual Connections. A little about the artist herself.. I'm Amelia, and the banner I create under is "Where the Wild Things Grow". I've lived on the Central Coast just about all my life, and have been creating since I could hold a crayon. Art has always been a part of my life (not necessarily expression though, but that's for another time), and in recent years as I'm awakening and we're all shifting and changing, I have realised the Spiritual nature of myself and what I create for others. The core of my work as an artist/artisan, soon to be writer; is around our ascension, it's all about accepting our true authentic selves, acknowledging them, and really bringing them (often via the expression of the inner child) out to play. Loving ourselves, basically. My work currently (or previously, it's evolving right now) spans colourful face & body painting, henna tattooing, fantastical jewellery, crowns, wings and wands. You may wonder what's spiritual about wearing fairy wings, but consider that if part of your essence (which is brought to your attention by your natural likes and inclinations) is of the Faerie realm, then wearing a shining pair of wings will help to bring that part of you out to play, and so you are being more of your true self. In this you are also inspiring others, in coming out to play as their authentic selves, and to accept their inner diversity and so the magnificent diversity all around us on Mother Earth. I love playing with colour, and anything from nature or emulating her, so I feel this passion and joy, along with the peaceful environment I create it in, becomes embedded in the pieces I make and is passed on to the new keeper and they receive healing energy from it. I'm often working with wonderful copper, which has great conductive capabilities (is also linked to Venus, Goddess & planet of Love), and also numerous semi precious stones, which have their own energetic properties. These elements become imbued with the love I have for Earth, Spirit and expression. Walking into a marketplace filled with artisans and their heart felt creations (I like to call them 'He.artisans'), you can feel the vibration of their work, the light in their eyes as they talk about what is often their calling. This is starkly different when you attend a market of imported goods. This just illustrates so clearly to me that we all really shine when we give ourselves permission to do what we really love to do. When we trust that the Universe really does support us, and provide for us, when we're trusting in abundance and the inherent good that is in and around us always. July was a Jam-packed and exciting month for Spiritual Connections, with SCCC's founder Tracy Robbins arriving home from her 2 month UK Journey To Life workshop tour- welcome home Tracy, we missed you! Other happenings included local spiritual author Tina A Wake lauching her 'Glimpse' Trilogy at the Byron Bay Writer's Festival (her books are now available for e-download via her website at www.theglimpse.com.au) and the Spiritual Singles Group's first Single Mingle at Terrigal, which was a big success and as such will now occur regularly on the first weekend of each month. Check out the next Singles Mingle event by clicking here, members and their guests welcome. There has been lots of new Spiritual Service Providers joining up over the past month also, and many have already customised their pages, posted photos, organised events and listed in the service directory. Its so great to see the Spiritual Service Providers on the coast bringing their offerings to the one central place, making it so much easier and simpler for people to know exactly whats on offer and enabling them to search for specific services and practitioners in the one convenient place. If you are a service provider, stay tuned over the next few months for new features and membership options which will allow you to further maximise your exposure and get your message across even more effectively. The Interest Groups have been another area of high activity this past month, with more members joining up groups and new groups being created. Spiritual Singles and Crystal Lovers have had lots of activity, and I've created a new group of my own documenting my spiritual-cyber-searching both as a way to share my findings with others who enjoy visiting new spiritually-related websites and to have an easy-to-view record for my own personal use. Anyone can create their own group, and as long as its spiritually-related, the sky's the limit! (Its also a great way to collate all your resources and articles if you are a service provider, so get creating your group and start inviting members to it!) Lisa's Inspirational Article Pick! APOLOGIES TO THE SACRED MASCULINE (The letter this warrior-in-transition would like to receive) 
I apologize for those moments when I couldn't see beyond my projections to your true nature. With so much relational trauma in the rear view mirror, I couldn't distinguish the heartless from the benevolent warrior. With my lens blurred by unhealed emotions, I was unable to see you in your wholeness. I unknowingly projected my negative expectations without recognizing those moments when you were moving from love. Please forgive me my projections, and know that below my pain was a heart that genuinely longed to merge with yours. I apologize for pushing you to open your heart when you weren't ready. I longed to be met in my openness, and I couldn't bear the disconnect between us. I am nourished by direct communication, and I took your silence personally. I didn't understand the relationship between your detachment and your warrior conditioning. I do see this now. From the beginning, you have been cast in the role of warrior protector and your emotional armour was fundamental to your task. Without it, you would not have been able to remain vigilant on the battlefield, nor succeed in the competitive marketplace. As our world moves away from survivalism as a way of being, I am hopeful that you will feel safe enough to live from an open heart. Such beautiful light comes through that opening. I apologize for not always seeing your limitations and struggles. There were times when I could not see past my expectations and fantasies. I had grown up with a fairy tale of a great knight that would save me, and I clung to that vision, preferring the perfection projection to the reality of humanness. As a result, I didn't always see how much stress you carried, how difficult things were, how hard it was to hold it all together. Of course, we perpetuated the projection together- you hid your humanness from view while I chose not to look for it. I look forward to the day when our relationships are not predicated on illusions, but on a deep recognition of each other's authenticity. I apologize for giving you mixed messages about how I wanted you to manifest. At times, I wanted you to be soft and tender. At other times, dominant and protective. How confusing this must have been for you, how challenging to go back and forth between such differing feeling states. It has been so confusing for all of us, trying to straddle the line between our needs for both safety and vulnerability. One day, the perversions of polarity will fall away and we will arrive at a sacred balance between all healthy ways of being. Women will feel safe to assert their voice and embody their wholeness, and men will feel equally safe disarming and speaking from their vulnerability. On the rivers of essence, everything flows in the same direction- towards the ocean of wholeness. I apologize for being passive aggressive towards you. I was not taught to express anger directly, and I was frightened of your aggressiveness. I know that you have had similar challenges with experiencing your sadness and releasing your tears. In the world we are moving towards, I am hopeful that both genders will have seamless access to all emotional states and healthy forms of expression. I am sorry that I expected you to fill my emptiness, when the only one who can fill it is me. I have often looked for answers in relationship, somehow imagining that another could complete me. After so many centuries of disempowerment, I didn't realize that I had the tools for my own self-creation. But I am recognizing it now. Where before we met as two fragmented beings, we will soon meet as two whole beings- each of us healthily boundaried, well-integrated and intrinsically complete. Two soulitudes. I am grateful for all those moments when you held me safe and operated within the heart of compassion. The backlash of recent decades was a necessary response to generations of suffering, but many of your contributions got lost in the shuffle. In my efforts to find my voice and stand my ground, I have not always given credit where it is due. I encourage you to re-claim anything you have lost along the way, and to proudly embody the sacred masculine as you once did. I apologize for those moments when I discouraged your power. I could not distinguish it from its historical misuses. I am grateful for the many positive contributions you have made to my reality. I realize that you often communicated your love for me and the village with deeds, not words. I thank you for helping to construct the structures that my expansion relies upon. I thank you for labouring long and hard to establish rule of law. I honour the warrior spirit that built the railroads, the cities, the bridges that bring us into contact with one another. I honour those warriors who fought and died on battlefields in an effort to protect us. You have sacrificed so much in order to hold us safe. Praise to those benevolent warriors who came before. I am grateful for GrandFather, for holding the space for my expansion with patience and wisdom. I am grateful for Father, for defending and sheltering me. I am grateful for Father Sky, for showing me a vision of possibility that transcended my circumstances. I am grateful for the Divine Father, the real Father of us all. I now feel his divine presence, so close. Fiercely compassionate, he was always right here, holding me safe. There has been so much blame between us, so much hatred and name-calling. To be sure, it is essential that we express our anger and heal our hearts. Nothing should be swept under the rug in that process, everything should be exposed. But it is also important that we have compassion for each other and endeavour to understand the context for our actions. We have all been victims of a sociological landscape that impacted on our identifications and behaviours. Like two different species in the same bed, we were compelled by circumstances to inhabit roles that kept us miles apart. Those roles have caused us great suffering, each gender suffering in its own way. To the extent that one gender was denied wholeness, the other was denied it as well. Women were denied the right to basic protections and pathways of expression, men were denied access to a tender, receptive way of being. No one got off easy, despite appearances. As we move towards a more enheartened interface, may we create space for new visions of possibility. We must begin the process by healing the genderation gap that exists between us. We must soften the edges perpetuated by our reactivities. We must heal the rifts along the gender continuum that keep us apart. In my most clarified imaginings, I envision a world that fully celebrates the healthy feminine and the healthy masculine. Instead of throwing all gender differences out with the bath water, we make a conscious distinction between benevolent and destructive identifications. We craft a sacred balance of our healthiest aspects. Each of us identifies the unique fusion of feminine and masculine energies that aligns with our essential nature. And we openly learn from one another -men teach healthy manifestation, women teach healthy womanifestation- and we come to humanifestation together. We meet each other in our entirety. May we never forget the relational and co-transformative nature of human expansion. Although the ultimate romance is with your own soul, it is our experiences together that give birth to the essential lessons. We are each here to participate in this dance of sacred imagination, stepping on each other's toes and turning each other toward God one clumsy step after another. We trip, and then we get back up with greater awareness. With this in heart, I am hopeful that we can learn to accept one another in our humanness. We are going to continue to make mistakes, but there is grace in that if we see our errors through to the lessons they contain. I look forward to the day when we can meet one another in our true nakedness, stripped free of unresolved emotions, pain-induced projections, the distortions of duality. For too long we have been on opposite sides of the river, the bridge between our hearts washed away by a flood of pain. But the time has come to construct a new bridge, one that comes into being with each step we take, one that is fortified with benevolent intentions and authentic self-revealing. As we walk toward one another, our emotional armour falls to the ground, transforming into the light at its source. And when we are ready, we walk right into the Godself at the centre of the bridge, puzzled that we ever imagined ourselves separate. May you feel the presence of the Divine Mother close at heart, inviting you to rest deeply on the tender shores of your own essence, nestling you in the grateful arms of those you have protected. Those who have received your blessings may not always acknowledge it, but your acts of love have landed within us, growing us stronger and infusing us with love's light. Rest dear warrior, rest. Life....... be gentle with me.
Have you forgotten?
Has it been so long since you felt the despair and loneliness of separation
that your onslaught has become impersonal?
Have I not been a disciple, upon this earth, doing my very best
Sometimes low, sometimes high,
but each time endeavouring to do my best in the moment brought to me.
Will you not help temper the onslaught of vicious and barbarous thoughts
that arise from the sick and dying mind within me?
I cannot bear this projection of darkness that lives within me.
The blackness and the suffering,
The anger and the unbearable sorrow.
The uncontrollable spewing of dark thoughts
that want only to wound, induce hate within me,
corrupt and drag me down into depression or anxiety
To make guilty or create superiority.
I cannot bear it any longer.
It is a madness that I can only watch as it threatens to tear me apart;
No sooner one door closed upon the enemy
than it comes in through a window;
a crack in the floorboards;
like toxic smoke skulking into this room that is my life.
Is there is no escape in this world, from the deadly enemy
that is my own mind.
I feel ancient.... as though I have been in battle with myself for eons.
I am weary of the fight and pray only for release.
If death takes me, a blessing bestowed;
A brief respite from the cycle that brings me back into a new suit of armour - polished and resplendent;
full of forgetfulness of the pointlessness of battle against an enemy that has always outwitted and outlived me.
An enemy that never tires.
That always has another battle plan.
That seems to have much more invested in this fight
It has been collecting through the ages
from an uncountable number of souls....
adding another and another to its trophy case.
Life.... Be gentle with me.
Lift me up higher than I have been before.
Lift me up above these dark brooding clouds
that threaten to pour their dank despair upon me.
Lift me up into the radiant light that I know awaits me
but that I cannot see; cannot feel.
Life, I beseech you....... Be gentle with me.
Bring to me those kindly souls who can teach me well
the ways of the dark night.
Bring to me a soft and welcoming light.... Streaming ahead of me
like a beacon to guide me home.
Remove from my path the obstacles, that with these eyes
blinded by the darkness I have stumbled upon
bruised myself upon, bled and cried upon.

The Wellness Connection

I believe we create every circumstance in our life - all of it. For example, I'm learning that our emotional state is directly responsible for our physical state of well-being - or misalignment. When I'm in a joyful, peaceful, loving, enthusiastic, inspired and empowered emotional state, I feel physically well, healthy, strong, vibrant, energetic and alive! However, when I'm in a negative emotional state (fear, anger, depression, guilt, frustration, unworthiness, doubt, worry etc) those negative emotions translate into a negative physical manifestation - illness, disease or physical pain. If I feel unwell or in pain, the first thing I do is look inward to my emotional state, knowing that the answer, and the antidote is right here within me. 
Central Park, New York, NY. Photo by Jason Blume. Have you noticed how people who live in a constant, chronic state of negative emotion are always ill - or suddenly become seriously ill? They will tell you that they feel negative because they are ill or because they are in pain, but the truth that I'm discovering is, they feel pain because they live inside their negativity. Their body is reflecting their chronic, long term negative thoughts by physically manifesting their emotional pain. The longer and more deeply entrenched a person is in chronic negative thoughts and emotions, the deeper and more severe their ailments become. There are a number of Metaphysic experts who link physical and emotional health in this way. Lousie Hays' book, 'Heal Your Body' lists physical ailments and the emotional/psychological links her years of indepth research has uncovered. In her book, 'Antomy Of The Spirit', Caroline Myss talks about (among other things) the correlation between the seven Chakras, or power centres, in the body and how they relate to the physical body, the non-physical body and the emotions. If you haven't read these books, I highly recommend them both. I recently went back through my life and did an inventory of all the major illnesses, injuries and diseases I've had. I thought carefully about what was happening in my life and the condition of my emotional state at the time these ailments occurred. I was stunned when I realised the connection between the way I was feeling emotionally and the way I was feeling physically. Every single time I suffered a physical ailment, whether it was severe depression, chronic lower back pain, torn muscles in my neck and shoulder, torn ligaments in my foot, chronic bronchial infections even my disease of compulsive overeating and food addiction, I had been suffering from chronic negative thoughts and emotions - often for a long period. Then I looked at the times I had felt incredibly happy, empowered, filled with passion, enthusiasm, and a sense of security and emotional well-being and realised that at those times I was physically also very healthy and filled with a sense of physical well-being. These days, armed with my knowledge of the Law Of Attraction and my ability to manifest anything I focus my thoughts upon, plus my growing interest in metaphysics and the physical/emotional/spiritual connection, I recognise that negative emotions are a signal to me that I'm not in alignment with my higher self. I immediately begin to think/climb my way up the emotional ladder to find better feeling thoughts and raise my emotional position to one of joy and love. I rarely get sick these days and when I do, I look upon it as a wonderful opportunity to heal my emotions. As an exercise, I encourage you to write a health inventory too. You'll be amazed at the links you find between your emotional and physical health. Its a profound and powerful moment when you realise that your state of natural physical health and well-being begins with your emotional health and well-being. Its empowering because it means you have absolute control over your state of physical, as well as emotional and spiritual, health. How do Interest Groups work? By joining an interest group, you will be updated by email on any content that other members add to the group via discussion forums or comments. You can also choose not to receive the emails by selecting that option form your settings. If you have any interesting content to add to the group, you will know that those interested will be informed of it. You can also email other members of the group if required. It is a good way to stay informed in your field of interest and to connect to others of similar interests.
