Blue Rose Theatre presents
Charley Genung's "Cold Chills Gold Fever"
Tsunami logo

Sharlot Hall Museum's resident theatre group, the Blue Rose Theatre - now in its 16th season - presents an expanded production of their original play, "Cold Chills Gold Fever."

This play tells the story of Charley Genung, his wife and 10 children who settled in Peeples Valley in the 1870s.

Written by Jody Drake, the story incorporates both great comedy and drama involving Genung and his wife. Much of the story unfolds through Genung's great-grandson as he learns of Genung's travels and adventures while pulling artifacts out of Genung's old trunk.

Starring newcomer Andrew Forte and Blue Rose favorites Parker Anderson and Jody Drake.

This Sunday on Prescott Arts Beat
Mike Vax scales the
Prescott Jazz Summit

Mike Vax is one of those guys you meet and you think, how the world did they end up in Everybody's Hometown?

This is a fella who elicted the following from Robert Tate and Nina Hodgson (Jazz Now Magazine) at the Monteray Jazz Festival: "Where'd this guy come from? Is he for real?' Even just one or two choruses like that for your hundred and fifty dollar ticket, you figure you got your money's worth."

As Festival Director of the Prescott Jazz Summit, Mike knows there are parts of the festival you need to chart and parts you have to leave open for improvisation. Find out what the score is for this year's 10th annual Prescott Jazz Summit when we talk to Mike after a recent concert at Washington Traditional School.

Tune in Sunday, August 22nd at noon, to hear all about it
on the publicly supported K-JAZZ radio network.
