Prescott Film Festival
 ~ Day One ~
Audience

This is just the schedule for films I will be hosting. There are a lot more movies at the festival. For a complete listing, click here. Each screening needs a separate ticket, unless you choose to buy a festival pass or a ticket package. To find out more about this, stop by the Prescott Convention and Visitors Bureau (Cortez and Gurley Street).

27 guests are scheduled to attend including producers, writers, directors, actors and crew! Forty films, shorts and features will be screening over the three day festival.

For you Early Birds, you cinema mavens, such a treat we have for you! The festival kicks off Friday morning, at the newly restored Elks Opera House Theatre. What a great place to watch movies. It really is an old time movie palace!

Here's the morning schedule of screenings. All films are family friendly.

9 am -
How My Dad Killed Dracula (short)
Expecting Mary
Astar-studded cast that includes Elliott Gould, Della Reese, Cloris Leachman, Gene Simmons, Cybil Shepherd and Lanie Kazan, among many others.
The Producer of the film, Kim Waltrip, and Executive Producer, James Casey, are scheduled to attend the screening.

11:20 am
Liquid Stone: Unlocking Gaudi's Secrets
Henry O!

Prescott Film Festival
 ~ Day Two ~

Its my pleasure to host the centerpiece film of the festival, a free-wheeling documentary about the emerging vineyards of the Verde Valley and environs.

This doc features a truly ecclectic cast, including rock star Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle) and Prescott College graduate, all-around wine genius Eric Glomski, as well as actress/model Milla Jovovich, Arizona State Historian Marshall Trimble, wine expert Paula Woolsey, comedian Patton Oswalt and many others. The film will show at Yavapai College Performance Hall. Recommended viewing for persons 17 + years old.

We'll have the pleasure to watch this - the last festival appearance for this film (already seen from the Honolulu International Film Festival to the storied Alamo Draft House in Austin, TX)  with Marshall Trimble, Paula Woolsey and co-writers/ co-directors Ryan Page and Christopher Pomeranke.

Quick! Start thinking up brainy oenological questions to ask them during the Q & A!

5:30 pm Arizona Stronghold wine tasting (separate ticket, limited seating)

7:30 pm Blood Into Wine

Fun Fact: I was one of the crew that built Maynard's vineyard in Jerome. I can say with certainty how many holes we dug (ask me about it, the number will make you laugh) and that its a beautiful place to watch wine get started.

Prescott Film Festival
 ~ Day Three ~

Return once more to the Elks Opera House Theatre for an amazing group of films from all over, including a film shot in the True Value Hardware Store parking lot - with a camera crane shot! Holy Orson Welles, Batman!

Here's what we have on deck:

First off, we have a burst of short films, each a little gem of design and execution:

9 am
The Last Laugh
True Beauty This Night
Sofia
Miracle Investigators
Beachwork Orange
Love in Bulk

Then, our local champ:

10:50 am
Resuscitate

And I leave you with

Earthwork, following Resuscitate, possibly the most inspiring movie of the whole festival - about one unlikely artist unleashing the creative mind in you . . . and you . . .  and . . . yeah, you.

Enjoy, cinestes!
