Greetings!
So far, it's been a busy spring, with many news clients achieving their quality certifications. I recently returned from the AT&T "Operation Hand Salute" DVBE graduation, where 4 of our clients achieved TL 9000 certification.
(read the story). I am also proud to announce that BIZPHYX was recently approved as a QuEST Forum global training provider and we're so excited to expand our reach beyond North America.
As you know, BIZPHYX is certified to TL 9000 and ISO 9001 and as part of our own "continual improvement" efforts, in 2011 we're increasing our post-certification support for clients. We want our customers to have the tools needed to not only maintain, but truly maximize their QMS. This coincides with a new Facebook resource page, increased webinar training, including a new course entitled "Marketing Your Quality Certification" and the launch of our new podcast channel. In June, we are featuring a 4-part podcast series on what auditors look for during their certification and surveillance audits.

TL 9000 NEWS: New Industry Report

At the recent Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) annual conference "Inside The Network", QuEST Forum took the opportunity to release their 2011 Wireless Return Rate Industry Report. This report is the third in a series on the state of communications quality. The study was conducted over a two-year period from July 2008 to June 2010 and focused on the return rates for the wireless product family.
The study illustrates some impressive statistics that substantiate a very positive impact. During the study period, return rates broadly decreased (i.e. improved) across the wireless product family and the linear average improved for each of the measurements examined. This year we're expanding our client support services with increased opportunities for continuing education. We know that budgets and time constraints are factors for our clients and we are meeting this challenge with new free, on-demand content available through popular social media applications, all accessible from a dashboard on all of our web pages.
We encourage you to visit (and LIKE), our new Facebook Page, which will allow you to access Twitter tips, video, news and links to live feeds from our blog, all from one place. If you're a Facebook user, this is your application! We have also launched a new podcast channel, available at the I-Tunes store (please subscribe to the feed for new episodes). This channel kicks off a new series on what auditors look for during certification and surveillance audits. The 4-part interview series will be posted weekly and features Timothy Woodcome from NQA and Charlie Morton from Alcatel-Lucent. We thank these TL 9000 auditors for their time and expertise in producing this series (read their stories). If you don't have an active I-Tunes account, you can listen to the MP3 files directly from our website (here) or live from our blog (hit the audio MP3 icon) for each post. Episodes 1 & 2 are available now and episodes 3 & 4 will be posted the week of June 6th.

TL 9000: Application To All Segments of Communications

At the request of several clients and support desk subscribers, we completed a 4-part series on the application of TL 9000 in all segments of communications. In the series we took individual segments of communications such as ILECs, wireless, cable, broadband and VoIP and demonstrated how implementing TL 9000 could foster process improvement and competitive advantages for suppliers in all of these segments. The TL 9000 standard is gaining momentum beyond the wireline and wireless product segments and its our hope TL 9000 becomes the quality management standard for the entire communications industry. In addition to the free educational resources we offer clients, we've increased our webinar training courses. "Advanced Quality" will be offered again in September, due to the overwhelming response we had to this highly requested course. Also, after the successful March pilot of a new course entitled "Marketing Your Quality Certification", we're now releasing this course to the public. Originally offered to a select group of WOC companies, this course will now be available by webinar on August 12, 2011.
This course is ideal for newly certified companies (1-2 years), that want to learn how to market their quality certification to help win new business contracts. ISO 14001 and Corporate Sustainability:
Are You Being Asked To Upgrade?

In the fall, we have 5 clients on schedule for certification. As part of an on-going effort to help our clients understand more about this EMS and its requirements, we're now featuring new subject matter research on our Knowledge Base.
Very soon, we will also have a new section of our website dedicated to ISO 14001. In the spring, we featured an extensive 5-part series on our blog and support desk about ISO 14001 and corporate sustainability. In this series, we discussed a recent article from GreenBiz that examined if markets respond to corporate sustainability efforts. Cited in the article, was a study from the Journal of Operations Management that outlined which "green initiatives" had a positive impact on shareholder value. Certification to ISO 14001 was among the top three. You might be surprised about what did little to increase shareholder value. BIZPHYX is excited to announce that all of the DVBE graduates of "Operation Hand Salute" have achieved their TL 9000 and ISO 9001 certification*. Sue Clancy participated in the graduation ceremony held at the AT&T Administrative Center in San Ramon, California on May 26th. Read the full story:
BIZPHYX is also pleased to announce that in late April, we became members of the NTCA, better known as the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association and we are excited about the new partnership. In other membership news, Sue Clancy and K. Wright, are now members of the Institute For Supply Management's Supplier Diversity SIG and hope to bring increased TL 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality education to supply chain executives.

Sue Clancy will be participating at an AT&T "Meet The Primes" matchmaker supplier diversity event in Dallas, June 6-8th and BIZPHYX will be attending the 2011 WBENC National Conference, "The Opportunity Connection" in Las Vegas, Nevada June 21-23rd. QuEST Forum News
For many years, BIZPHYX has been a QuEST Forum selected training provider of TL 9000 sanctioned courses in North America. In May 2011, during the QuEST Forum work group meetings in Dallas, it was announced that BIZPHYX was approved to become a global training provider. We are now listed as a global provider on the TL 9000 website. Congratulations to Bob Clancy as he works on new initiatives in Asia!
