A 1992 graduate of Fayette County High School, Danny is a long-time Fayette County resident. While attending Gordon and Shorter colleges, he began a writing career in 1995 at Fayette County News. Seven years later, he moved to Halesowen, England to work as a missionary with Operation Mobilization in the United Kingdom and Western Europe. Danny met his wife Joni in England, and that's where the first two of their three children were born.

Returning home to Fayette County in 2010, Danny joined a major, international investments firm as a financial advisor. He earned his Series 7, Series 66 and insurance licenses in early 2011.

Danny and his family are active members of Bible Baptist Church in Hampton where Danny serves as the Sunday school superintendent. He is also involved in other local, non-profit organizations.
