Wowzers, what a great summer! With lots of great events going on, we wanted to send a special thanks to those participating in the bike challenge - Keep up the great work! Join CATMA in the commuter contest, ending August 31st and make sure to check out CCTA's Google transit in planning your commute via bus. Vermont National and Local Bike Challenge!

With just over a month and a half to 
go CATMA, Champlain College, Fletcher Allen and UVM have been proud participants in the VT Bike Challenge. In its first year the challenge has been quite a success! With over 1200 riders totaling 242,773 miles thus far and 222,230 pounds of CO2 saved. Vermont leads all other states in the national challenge! In the local challenge with over 200 workplace competitors, UVM holds a second place while Fletcher Allen holds steady in fourth place. Thank you LocalMotion and the many other sponsors for bringing this challenge to Vermont! Remember to log your miles, challenge yourself and have fun. Click here for more information


Burlington Climate Action Plan (CAP)

The new CAP was approved by the Planning Commission in May and is now moving into the adoption process of the City's Municipal Development Plan. This is an opportunity for everyone to get involved, provide feedback and show your support. Click here to learn more

 

Williston Road "Complete Streets Trial" 

Complete Streets are roadways designed and operated to enable safe, attractive, and comfortable access and travel for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and public transport users of all ages and abilities.The Williston Road project started on June 28 in conjunction with the VTrans' Williston Road repaving project. A "Complete Street" test scenario between Hinesburg Rd and Kennedy Dr was created. Re-striping resulted in reduced lanes, a center two-way left turn lane and a bike lane. CATMA Commuter Contest Extended through August 31

That's right, CATMA has extended its commuter video contest through August 31! We've received some creative and fun videos, but we want to give folks a little more time to enter the contest.  Take a few minutes to send in your commuting story or video and you just might WIN a great prize. Due to popular demand, CATMA and our member institutions are planning two more Bicycle Commuter workshops on campus in late September/early October. Be sure to keep your eyes out for registration.
