Traveling On The Weather Rollercoaster!  

One day we're dressing for summer, the next day we're dressing for winter, the next day we're dressing for fall and now we're dressing for spring!  We know the weather and high gas prices are impacting your commute these days ~ so big "shout out" to all who are lacing up those walking shoes, hopping on those bikes, finding a carpool, jumping on the bus or biking to a bus stop and loading your bike on the bus. You are the best commuter role model who will influence your coworkers, friends and neighbors to do the same, and together we make a difference!

Simply bike, walk, bus, carpool or telecommute at least ONE DAY during the week of May 14-18, whether for personal errands or your commute to/from work. If you already use these modes, you can still sign up.  Simply REGISTER HERE, select your employer & have a chance to win some awesome prizes!  

 

Emergency Ride Home Renewals 

In March, all registered CATMA members were issued a Commute Smart Card renewal, required to use CATMA's Emergency Ride Home program. It was mailed to your campus address. If you haven't received your renewal, give us a call and we will reissue your card.   

                    

Walk Bike Summit 2012

On Saturday, March 31, CCRPC had the pleasure of co-hosting the 2012 Walk/Bike Summit with Local Motion.  From all accounts the event was a success with approximately 120 attendees on a warm, sunny spring morning, click here to read more.  

 

Exit 14

The first public meeting for the proposed Exit 14 Intermodal Intercept Facility was held April 19, 2012 at the Sheraton. An Intermodal facility serves all modes of transportation including regional transit (CCTA), shuttles (CATMA), carpooling, walking and biking. A scoping study is currently being conducted. Food for YOUR Commute

CCTA New 116 Bus Service  

The new 116 Commuter service began April 23. It serves Bristol, Hinesburg, Middlebury and South Burlington residents. Read more and view a schedule here.  Employees at Champlain College, Fletcher Allen, UVM, CCRPC or the State of Vermont's downtown Burlington district who take any CCTA local or LINK bus route can register with CATMA for a FREE emergency ride home and monthly restaurant drawings!  

 

CCTA Public Meetings  

There are scheduled public meetings being held relative to a proposed fare increase on July 1st by CCTA, as well as potential elimination of the PARC shuttle route and afternoon service on the Lakeside route with a possible addition of 15-minute peak-hour service on Pine Street route. Weekly Traffic/Construction Alerts  for Chittenden County 

It's that time of year again! CATMA will forward to all its registered members, a weekly traffic/construction alert every Friday, complements of our Regional Planning Commission.  We'll post this info on our Facebook Page, Twitter and website.  Please contact us if you would like to receive this weekly alert. High Gas Prices = Increase in Biking, Walking, Carpooling and Bus Riders!

As we all know, and according to the recent  Burlington Free Press story, gas prices are on the rise! CATMA offers a variety of economical, convenient and healthy travel options to get to/from work ~ in fact, if you bike/walk to work, we'll pay you with $15 rewards to some local businesses and entertainment.  Click here to enroll in our Bike/Walk Reward program

On April 24, employees participated in a Free Bike Commuting 102 Workshop, a follow-up to the 101 offered in the fall. This time participants enhanced their skills and confidence  as street riders with a guided and narrated bike ride. If you are interested in participating in future 101s, 102s or 103 workshops please contact us to be placed on the outreach list.
