Advisory Commission
U.S. Department of Education Establishes Advisory Commission on AIM in Postsecondary for Students with Disabilities

The year-long Commission is charged with studying the current state of accessible materials for students with disabilities in postsecondary education and will make recommendations to the U.S. Congress for improving access to and the distribution of instructional materials in accessible formats. Interestingly, it is the first commission in history charged with examining AIM for postsecondary students with disabilities.

Meet the AIM Center Team

Richard Jackson, AIM Team

Richard Jackson is a Senior Research Scientist at CAST and guides the AIM team in the development of universally designed technology to meet the needs of individuals who are blind or visually impaired. An Associate Professor at Boston College since 1979, Dr. Jackson is himself visually impaired. He brings to his work on the AIM team over thirty years of experience as a teacher, a project director, a researcher, and an advocate in the field of education and visual disabilities. Most recently, his expertise in UDL and personnel development is evidenced in his role as Project Director for the UDL Postdoctoral Leadership Preparation Program
