Energy Efficiency Funding Available for Businesses

Cook County Energy Efficiency Program and Chicagoland Gas Rebate Program offer options to save energy and money.

The Cook County Energy Efficiency Program provides free energy audits, retro-commisioning grants, and a revolving loan fund for energy-saving investments. Commercial buildings, industrial facilities, owner-occupied non-profits, and place of worship may be eligible, depending on where they are in Cook County. Services are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Administered by the Delta Institute, these services are made possible by a $2.5 million federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) to Cook County.

The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program offers cash incentives and a variety of resources to improve the efficiency and comfort of non-residential spaces. Available to Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas customers on Service Classification No. 2., the program provides educational support and cash incentives for qualifying high efficiency furnaces, boilers, water heaters, insulation, commercial kitchen products, and other measures. Customized rebates are also available for other gas saving measures.

Staffing Changes at SomerCor

We are happy to announce that John Paulun has accepted a position with PortionPac Chemical Corporation. The SBIF applicants John was working with have expressed gratitude over the ease with which he worked on their files, and we share with them in wishing him the best moving forward. In John's absence, our summer interns Allan Crimer, Jake Stearns, and Erin Evenhouse offered invaluable assistance.
Erin is now working full-time at Somercor.

Thanks for reading our E-Newsletter.  Please tell your friends, coworkers, acquaintances, or anyone that might be interested in our grant program.  We rely on you to let others know about the program.  And, as always, please feel free to contact any of our SBIF team.

Sincerely,

Derek Walvoord, Silvia Sanchez, Joe Lewis, and Erin Evenhouse, the SBIF Team
