Astronomy & Stargazing 

July 9 Saturday, 8:00pm-10:00pm

Do you have an interest in astronomy? Feed your wonder and answer your questions about the heavens! Colfax astronomer Don Machholz, author and comet-hunter, will weave tales of the galaxies and explore the night sky with his telescopes. Instruction is given using binoculars and telescopes. Pre-registration is requested.

Solar Cooking & Fun in the Sun - Adventures in Nature!

July 10, Sunday, 1:00pm-4:00pm

Learn to cook with sun power from Karen Nodolf and Greta Hendrickson of Solar Cookers International. They will lead cooking demonstrations with solar cookers. Food will be available for tasting! Many great activities and experiments with the sun's energy will be on display to engage people of all ages, including taking temperature readings, make your own sun dial, and learning about plants that can take the heat! 

Takes place rain or shine! 

Make a day out of it and bring a picnic lunch.Nature Shop open.

Free to members, General Admission is $3/person.

Also, there is still time to sign-up for Science, Nature, Photography and Peace Summer Camp. Camp runs through the end of July. Our camps feature small groups, personalized attention to campers, an inclusive environment, and a cross-curricular, fun learning environment. They won't realize they're learning while having so much fun! Check out the themes here...
