Nature News:

Kitty Litter & Sea Otters:
Did you know that flushing kitty litter down the toilet kills Sea Otters? Toxoplasma, a parasite common to warm blooded animals, is the potential source of infection for California Sea Otters. Plus, conventional kitty litters are filled with carcinogens and is non-biodegradable. Good news though: there are many products available (for your information, not an endorsement):
Yesterday's News: Recycled newspaper.
Feline Pine: Reclaimed sawdust pellets.
World's Best Cat Litter: Whole kernel corn.
Swheat Scoop: Naturally processed, non-food grade wheat.
One Earth Cat Litter: Clumping corn-cob granules.

$1,000 in energy savings each year:
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 40% of all household electricity is consumed when products are turned off. This costs the average home almost $1,000 each year. An easy way to save money is to unplug! Or you can use power strip with an on/off switch. What a great way to save money and reduce your carbon footprint!
