Bluebells and blossom are out, wildlife is pairing up and several ducks have decided to nest in our garden planters! Spring is here.

We are preparing for a busy season on the holiday cottages and weddings, but we are still doing battle to secure the future of the Abbey's North Wing, having failed last week to secure our enabling development permission.  Heritage and planning do not seem to be happy bedfellows.

Supported by English Heritage and The Heritage Conservation Trust, the work was expertly undertaken by CS Towers of Shrewsbury under the watchful eye of heritage architects Arrol and Snell. Phase two - the ceiling repair is currently being researched - Michelangelo here we come!

Sitting on the banks of the Auvezere Riverin the Dordogne, Le Moulin de la Crouzille (www.lemoulin.org.uk) has been lovingly restored by the Beckett family and is available to rent between May and October. It sleeps 10, has a pool, lots to do nearby and is a wonderful holiday house.
