Wedding Fayre Spectacular...
The Glasshouse and new Pavilion have been humming all summer - and on Sunday September 26th from 11am - 3pm, we will host our second Wedding Fayre with Wedding Link.  As well as spectacular bridal shows and lots of wonderful stands - the Combermere team will be there to introduce prospective couples and families to our wonderful venue!  The gardens look spectacular in their autumn clothes and the maze is full of delicious fruit - which is turned into amazing cocktails to taste on the day.
Discover Something about...
The Library in the Abbey was originally the Abbots private dwelling, and avoided destruction during the Dissolution in 1536, because it was considered a modern building (it was built in 1503)! When the Cotton family enclosed the room, a new fireplace was put against the East wall, and subsequently a third fireplace was established in the 18th century.
Combermere fireplace exposed
Recent excavations of the cause of a nasty bulge above the fireplace has led to the removal of the panelling and lo and behold we have uncovered the earlier fireplace...so large you could have sat in it!!!   The whole exercise is both very scary and very exciting.
Somewhere Fabulous to do your Xmas shopping...
