New Breakfast in the Classroom Resources for Schools and Advocates

There are increasingly more resources available about how  schools can make breakfast in the classroom (BIC) a success. Be sure to visit our website with the latest materials and links:

Flooding, School Meals, and Food Stamps

As a result of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, many counties across our state were declared federal disaster areas.

Children displaced by any storm, flooding, or other misfortune may qualify for free school meals.

Households enrolled in the Food Stamp Program (FSP) who lost perishable food due to flooding, extended power outages or cutoff, equipment failure, and more may be eligible for Replacement Food Stamps.

Disaster Food Stamps are available in select counties.  Households who may not otherwise qualify for the regular FSP may be eligible for a one-time benefit.  Current FSP recipients may also be eligible for additional one-time benefit.

Both replacement and disaster food stamps are available for a limited amount of time.  Please spread the word! Visit our website for additional information with up-to-date information about connecting households with food assistance.
