Are you ready to bounce higher in Peoria? - The Advance Registration deadline is Monday, September 17. Be sure to register now and save!
- The Four Points and Mark Twain Hotels are both sold out. An additional block of rooms has been booked at the Jameson Inn. The room rate is $99.99 per night and the deadline to book your room is Monday, September 17. Reservations must be made by phone at (309) 685-2556. The Jameson Inn is a short drive from the Peoria Civic Center, and it offers free shuttle service, which can be coordinated a the front desk when you check in.
- For those who will be driving, parking is available at the Peoria Civic Center for $7, payable in cash only when you arrive.
- Don't forget, the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 9, is included in your registration! Mark your calendar and join us to celebrate the achievements of our fabulous colleagues!

Career Coaches needed for resume review

The ILA Career Clinic is seeking career coaches to review resumes at the 2012 ILA Annual Conference. If you have experience in the hiring process and are willing to give an hour to assist your colleagues, please contact Portia Latalladi at careerclinic@ila.org to register as a coach.
Resume review sessions are still available for new or soon-to-be graduates, as well as those seeking job and resume advice. At each twenty-five-minute session, candidates will receive free advice on how they can improve their resumes from librarians who have experience with the hiring process. Be sure to bring copies of your resume along! There may be openings available on-site, but you are encouraged to schedule beforehand by emailing Portia Latalladi at careerclinic@ila.org.

The demand for e-books in libraries is yesterday's news. The focus now and what will be addressed by this panel is on making the best purchasing decisions to maximize use while working with limited funding, balancing print and e-book budgets, evaluating vendors, considering collection policies, and responding to licensing restrictions.

"Illinois Libraries Matter," the blog of the ILA Marketing Committee, will relaunch later this month. With blog posts on every aspect of library marketing from committee members as well as guest bloggers from around the state, the blog will offer tips, techniques, stories of successful projects and answers to your questions. This year's marketing committee plans to focus on helping librarians market their libraries more effectively by creating a community in which library marketers can easily share questions, answers and insight. The relaunched blog is part of the effort, as is the Library Marketing Talk Table at the 2012 ILA Annual Conference in Peoria, at which folks can get one-on-one marketing coaching and answers to their questions about library marketing.
