Fund for Illinois Libraries
Fund for IL LibrariesThe Fund for Illinois Libraries was created in 1990 to help Illinois libraries in their fundraising efforts.  Libraries often solicit funds from the general public, businesses, or foundations. In some cases, donors are permitted to give only to organizations holding IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.  For many libraries this means foregoing a gift, as the time, effort, and costs of establishing and maintaining 501(c)(3) status are prohibitive.  The purpose of the fund is to enable libraries to receive gifts from individuals or organizations that can only make donations to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.

Be a Part of #ILAConf2012:  Submit a Program Proposal Today
The 2012 ILA Annual Conference will be held October 9-11 at the Peoria Civic Center.  The Conference theme is Bouncing Higher, with a red rubber ball as a symbol of resiliency and momentum, as well as the playful, fun aspects of librarianship.

Libraries are not only bouncing back from restructuring and budget cuts.  They are bouncing higher by going beyond expected boundaries via cutting-edge technological innovation, re-examining core services, reaching out to the community, and becoming more pro-active.  The idea of movement is key; moving forward, reaching out, bouncing higher. This is a new age of librarianship.

The conference committee is seeking program proposals that focus on new ways to engage your community, to stimulate imagination, to foster creativity and ingenuity, to share gifts and talents, and to demonstrate leadership for future libraries.  Proposals about collaborating and partnering with other agencies are encouraged.

If you share the optimism of librarians and trustees from all types of libraries and strive to do more, resurrect your super ball, gain momentum and bounce to new heights at the 2012 ILA Conference.

Program proposals are due Tuesday, January 31.  Click here to submit your proposal.
