IIPW 2011 logo

OSAP has signed on as a Supporting Partner with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) and other associations to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), October 16-22, 2011.

"IIPW activities bring greater attention to the importance of infection prevention and honor the professionals who deliver healthcare to patients safely," said Therese Long, OSAP Executive Director.  OSAP is proud to be part of a global network that is targeting this week to highlight and promote the importance of patient and provider safety," she said.

OSAP kicked-off IIPW on October 16 with the drawing of the winning entry in OSAP's Contagion movie tie-in contest. Look for more details on this and other IIPW activities at www.OSAP.org.

Judith RunzerOSAP is pleased to announce that Judith A. Runser RDH MSEd, Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene at Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, Kansas is the winner of the OSAP Contagion Contest. Judith has been a hygienist for 41 years. She worked in private practice for 36 years, taught as adjunct faculty for 23 years, has taught full-time for the past 3 years. Judith says that infection control/asepsis is one of her passions and that she is excited to introduce it to her students.
