OSAP Awarded NIOSH Grant
OSAP has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The focus of the grant related activities will be ensuring compliance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard among non-hospital healthcare facilities through a pilot project with private practice dental offices and dental clinics. Grant projects will include compiling an inventory of existing exposure control plans in dental healthcare settings and determining if existing exposure control plans or other resources are actively used to prevent occupational exposures. If extended, the project will examine barriers, strategies to overcome barriers, and lessons learned.
