REDWOOD CITY DESERVES GREAT SCHOOLS!

Yes on W

The RCEF is dedicated to the proposition that Redwood City's elementary and middle school students deserve a great education, and our City deserves a great public school system. We believe that good public schools boost property values, make neighborhoods safer, help local businesses, and keep families in Redwood City.

You can help by giving to us, often. And now, with
Measure W
on the ballot for the June 5, 2012 election, you can also help by supporting a $67 per year parcel tax for the Redwood City School District.

With a 67% YES vote, Measure W will give our schools about $1.7 million every year for five years to enhance reading, writing, math, and science skills; attract and retain qualified teachers; and support school libraries. No funds will be used to pay for administrator salaries, and a citizen's oversight committee will be formed to review all expenditures.

More information about Measure W is at: www.betterrwcschools.org.

Join the RCEF as a Measure W endorser, by sending an email to Redwood Community for Better Schools.

Please support Measure W with your endorsement, time, and vote. We urge you to vote yes on W because Redwood City deserves great public schools!

Save Our School Music

JOIN THE CHORUS!

If you've heard any of our middle school bands or orchestras this school year, you know how great they sound. But we are facing ANOTHER budget shortfall for next year. If we can't raise enough money, the music program may face further cuts or disappear altogether.

Here's how you can take action:

  1. Volunteer Help with the 4th of July Parade Run.
Or send us an email to join the steering committee or help on other initiatives.
  2. Donate We are seeking twenty $1,000 donors, who will be thanked with a private recital and their names in the spring concert programs. Can you be one of those 20 people? Do you know someone who could be? Let us know! And as always, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Or respond to our appeal letter - coming soon.
  3. Eat, Drink and Be Merry! Attend a Taste of Redwood City evening at one of Redwood City's great restaurants. For $25, come enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks, relax with friends, and enjoy your community. More details to come.

Remember, music soothes the savage beast (i.e., middle schooler)! Plus, music makes kids smarter, better team workers, more creative, and more engaged with school.
