FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS!
"Fasten your seatbelts," Governor-Elect Jerry Brown told a gathering of education leaders this week, warning them of deep and unavoidable cuts to the education budget in 2011/12.

With your support we can save programs vital to giving our students the high-quality, well-rounded education they need to succeed. Please give today! |

THANK YOU SVCF!
The Silicon Valley Community Foundation has awarded the RCEF a grant of $50,200 to support the district's Summer Math Institute. The Institute prepares middle school students for success in Algebra I in 8th or 9th grade. Since 2009, a total of 145 students have attended the Institute. 72% of current 8th graders who participanted in this program are now enrolled in Algebra I. Many studies show that students who succeed in Algebra I in 8th grade are more likely to continue their education past high school. |
