SUMMER MATH INSTITUTE SHOWS RESULTS!

This summer marked our second year of the pre-Algebra Summer Math Institute. Since 2009, 145 students have attended the Institute to prepare for success in Algebra 1. We are pleased to note that 72% of entering 8th grade students who participated in the program are currently enrolled in Algebra I, and 97% of the parents of 2010 students rated the Institute as "very positive." Studies show that students who take Algebra I by eighth or ninth grade are far more likely to take calculus in high school and pursue higher education than those who do not.

For more information, visit our Summer Math Institute page.

The RCEF is able to fund this important program with major support from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
