SAVE OUR SCHOOL MUSIC!

A large group of parents, educators, and community members has come together to raise funding for the instrumental music program in 5th through 8th grades. Due to unprecedented and unthinkable budget cuts, possibly reaching $13.7 million, this valuable program is on the list of cuts for next year. We need lots of volunteers to make this happen, so if you can help, please email us at: info@rcef.org.

FITFUN PROGRAM LAUNCH

On February 5, the District launched the Fit Fun for Better Learning program funded by the RCEF through $20,000 in grants from Kaiser Permanente and Mills Peninsula Health Services. This program gives teachers the tools to provide  high-quality physical activities during the school day so that our children can be healthier and better concentrate on learning.

SMART GRANTS FOR TEACHERS

Thanks to our partners Oracle and Westly Foundation, we are providing $45,000 in teacher innovation grants starting this March. This is our second year partnering with these supporters to deliver SMART grants. We look forward to helping our teachers give their students opportunities for hands-on learning, field trips, and workshops in science, math, technology, and the arts.
