The Glamorous World of Plumbing...an introduction by Kimberly
Hello! My name is Kimberly Blaesing and I am the Service Director here at Tiger Plumbing. I have met many of you over the last few months talking with area businesses and homeowners. Sometimes it is shocking to people that I can be passionate about plumbing. Plumbing isn't that glamorous right? I have learned so much since joining my family's business. Actually, I have been "in it" since I was seven. With the recent flooding affecting many of us, I wanted to spend some time in this premier issue to talk about how to protect your homes from water and sewer damage. If you have a question as you read the newsletter, please do not hesitate to email me. Our Tiger business is family owned and operated. Read more about our Tiger History below! As we turn the corner from our wet, severe weather... think about protecting your house from the damages that we have seen year after year now. There are ways to protect your home! Back Up Sump Pumps and Overhead Sewer Systems are just two examples. I spent more time at a recent doctor's appointment talking with the doctor about our water pressure driven back up sump pump (See Water Commander below), than my health. My passion: What could solve his flooding problem? My plumbing glamourousity (I think that is a word) comes from being passionate about product knowledge and the honesty that is the backbone of our business. Honesty is important to us, that is why we offer free estimates and we never charge you a fee just to come out to your home or business. Why would we charge you a fee to come out for service, when you were nice enough to call us? That is a Tiger value. I hope you find our newsletter practical, informative and fun!

    Sewer BackUp?
   No Check Valves.
    Overhead Sewer
    Systems are the
         way to go!

 Dear Homeowners,

Due to the recent flooding of the sanitary sewer systems into your homes, many towns and cities are offering to give the home owner a free sewer check valve to install to prevent sewage back up.  Even though they are approved by the Indiana plumbing code, you must be aware that the check valve is not 100% guaranteed to stop the sewage from backing up into your home. If an object is flushed down the toilet, such as a toy, wash cloth, soup bone, Qtip, disposable diaper, etc. and it gets lodged in the seal of the flapper -your check valve is useless and sewage back up may occur.  Also, most manufacturers recommend that the check valves must be serviced, checked or maintained every four to six months. There are so many problems with the sewer check valve that our company will not install sewer check valves.  The only way to guarantee that your home will never have sewage back up is through an Over Head Sewer System. Contact us for more information on the overhead sewer system. I will be happy to come to your home to offer you a Free Estimate and show you how an Overhead Sewer System can work for you!

~Yours for A Safe & Healthy Home!

tiger real Tiger Tale: The History
 How did Tiger Plumbing begin?
Owner Ross Kozora bought out Zimmerman Plumbing in 1982. Prior to that event, Zimmerman Plumbing had been in business since 1947! There was one stipulation that Mr. Zimmerman told Ross when he wanted to buy the business. He (Zimmerman) was in no mood to retire and asked Ross to keep a desk in the office for him. Ross did that and Zimmerman faithfully came in every day up until is passing. Ross named his business IWZ.  IWZ stood for: I Worked for Zimmerman. Throughout the years, many customers could not remember the IWZ. It was not as easy as ABC you know? So, a few years back, Ross decided to give a little life to the businesses' name. Tiger Plumbing was born! Although this "little cub" took some getting used to, customers and the public alike fell in love with the new name. Aside from the "adorable name", Tiger has a full force of knowledge and expertise. Ross was Indiana State President for PHCC (Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Association). He led many of the state's PHCC plumbers and businesses. Many area plumbers enjoyed Ross as a teacher at the NWI Plumbing Apprenticeship School. Ross taught at the school for over fourteen years, sharing stories, instilling values and teaching plumbing codes to students. Tiger Plumbing is also Indiana State Licensed. EVERY Tiger technician has their own Indiana State Plumbing License.
So, with the name change came the fun marketing. The Tiger theme is fun to promote! Our Tiger trucks are spotted here, there and everywhere! We are in community parades and give back to the community in many ways. If you have met Ross, you know why we have Tiger Pride to stand behind his name.
Honesty. Trust. Knowledge. Family. Four keys to our "Roaring" Success.

Tip: Once a month pour a gallon of vinegar down each drain in your house, except toilets. Let set overnight. In the morning boil a large kettle of water & pour in each drain. This will prevent many clogged drain situations!
Did You Know? Bathroom use accounts for about 75% of all the water used inside your home!
 Its the lawArticle Headline
Did you know that many Plumbing Companies do not have Licensed Plumbers? Or, they may have one licensed plumber and all the other workers are general labor workers.  The State of Indiana, requires, all plumbers to be licensed. What if a repair had gone wrong in your home? Will there be a warranty? Is the plumber that you called legitimate? Indiana State Plumbers go through four years of schooling with on the job training. Trust that they have the education, expertise and knowledge behind them! Make sure your plumber is Licensed by the State of Indiana. All of Tiger Plumbing's Plumbing Technicians are licensed by the State of Indiana. So, if you see a Tiger Plumbing truck in your rear view mirror, you can be confidant there is a licensed plumber inside!
