Adoré Flynn Kurtz Has Been Appointed to the North Country Regional Economic Development Council

 New York State's Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that Adoré Flynn Kurtz has been appointed to the North Country Regional Economic Development Council. The ten (10) Regional Economic Development Councils are structured as public-private partnerships and will be responsible for creating long-term sustainable economic development strategies to guide investment decisions for their respective regions. New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) Applauds Governor Cuomo's Economic Development Strategy

The establishment of Regional Economic Development Councils by Governor Cuomo will provide a framework for re-invigorating New York's economy that will benefit our regions, the state, and the men and women who fill the jobs this initiative will help create. The Regional Council will provide a "bottom up" strategy for revitalizing the economies of 10 very diverse regions of the state.

Empire State Development (ESD) Update:
ESD and Research Foundation of SUNY Plattsburgh Announce Telemedicine Information Network Project in North Country
Empire State Development (ESD) and The Research Foundation of SUNY, on behalf of the college at Plattsburgh, announced the launch of the Adirondack-Champlain Telemedicine Information Network (ACTION) in the North Country. This $9.8 million project will develop a long-term, leased 239-mile telemedicine network, which will link 48 medical facilities in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence, Warren, Saratoga, Washington, and Rensselaer counties.

County of Clinton Industrial Development Agency Supports Job Creation and Non-traditional Business Development
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli recently released a report on the activity of the State's industrial development agencies (IDAs) for the fiscal year ending 2009 and found that these organizations supported over 4,500 projects valued at $73.5 billion.

Bombardier Receives Orders from Chicago Transit Authority for 300 Additional Rapid Transit Cars
Bombardier Transportation announced that, pursuant to the original contract announced in July 2006, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has placed orders for 300 additional rapid transit cars. These orders are valued at approximately $331 million US bringing the total number of cars ordered by CTA to 706, and the total value of the contract to approximately $1 billion US.
