Suwanee Student Council News
Thank you everyone who brought toys in for Toys for Tots. I bet on Christmas, kids will be happy.  My name is Stephen Pipes. At Suwanee Elementary, they are teaching you leadership skills.  To me, I think a leader is someone that is trustworthy, loyal , helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, brave, reverent, cheerful, etc.  Those are the ones I know, but there is many more.  Well . . . this is all I have to say, and have a Happy Holiday!

 Counselor's Corner

Dear Suwanee Family,

In addition to educating the children of our community, our school is also sensitive to other needs a family might have during this time of year.   There is a winter wonderland of  snowmen on the bulletin board next to the clinic. Each snowman on the board represents  the need of a  Suwanee student or their family. If you would like to help a family in need at Suwanee Elementary, please pick a snowman off the board, buy the item or gift card, and return the item(s) to the counseling  department  unwrapped by December 15, 2010. Thank you for your continued support  of our community!

Cooley's Pizza: Tired of Thanksgiving leftovers yet? Or maybe you are just craving a fresh, hot pizza, a calzone, wings, a hoagie, or one of the other tasty menu items Cooley's Pizza offers? If so, take part in our Spirit Day with Cooley's Pizza tomorrow (Tuesday, December 7). Order any time of the day or night and the Suwanee PTA will receive a percentage back of the day's proceeds. To receive credit, be sure to tell them this is an order for Suwanee Elementary. Also, tell them who your child's teacher is (or your children's teachers are) - the class with the most participation will win free pizza. Cooley's Pizza offers delivery or take-out. Call them at 770-904-6463 or visit them online at www.cooleyspizza.com

Earning for Learning Promotion #2: We will have our first count for the new grade level "Who will be Rolled at the Jaguar Jive" promotion this week. Please bring in your BoxTops labels by this Thursday (12/9) to be included in our first count (boxes are located in the cafeteria). We will announce the standings next week so you will know how many labels you'll need to collect over winter break to make sure the teacher(s) you want to see rolled wins. Remember, this promotion extends into February so there is still plenty of time to collect labels. We just want to get labels that may be expiring in 2010 turned in this month. Thanks for your continued support!
