Suwanee Elementary Parents,
Today marks the beginning of the nomination process for parents who are interested in serving on the Suwanee Local School Council as a parent representative. We currently have one parent representative opening on the Suwanee Local School Council. School Council membership consists of the principal, two certified teachers, four elected parents (two of the parents must be businesspersons), and the PTA president(s). Our School Council work promises to be informative as we review the progress of our school throughout the year.
Parents of current kindergarten through fourth grade students are eligible for nomination. School Council members serve two-year terms and must be willing to attend four to six meetings during the school year.
You may nominate yourself, your spouse, or another parent by completing the nomination form by clicking THIS LINK. The deadline for turning in nomination forms to the Suwanee main office is Monday, August 30, 2010.
Nominated parents will be listed in the main office as they are received. The election for parent representatives will occur at the main office on Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To vote, you must be the parent/guardian of a current kindergarten through fourth grade student.

Great for an after school or after dinner snack or even as dinner itself (especially for busy families on the go), the event will take place from 3-9PM at Planet Smoothie located at Suwanee Town Center Park. Be sure to identify that you are from Suwanee Elementary when ordering and the PTA will make 10% back from all purchases. So stop by for something tasty, support the PTA, and maybe even see some friends and teachers from our school. Be sure to say hi to Ms. Scott - the former Suwanee Elementary kindergarten teacher is looking forward to welcoming you to her shop.
Join us at our first general PTA meeting at Curriculum Night this Thursday at 6:00 PM. Bring your checkbook Thursday night because we will be there selling PTA Memberships, Yearbooks, and Spiritwear. We are still running our special, when you purchase two memberships, you get the new Suwanee Elementary Paw Print magnet FREE.
