Dear Suwanee Families,

 

We are so proud to announce that Shruthi Santhanam, a Suwanee 4th grader, won the Georgia District 3 Spelling Bee this weekend. The Spelling Bee was held at North Gwinnett High School and included 28 other upper elementary and Middle School students who represented 11 Georgia counties. Shruthi spelled "pasqueflower" and "churro" correctly to win this event. Shruthi consistently evidences a quiet determination and commitment to learning that is an inspiration to her classmates and teachers here at Suwanee. She will advance to the GAE State Spelling Bee on March 19th at Georgia State University. We wish her the best of luck.

I would also like to congratulate Karthik Yadavalli and Neeraj Alavala. Both represented Gwinnett County 4-H in the District Project Achievement on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. Karthik competed in the Electric/Electronics project and won 1st place! Neeraj competed in Air Science and placed 2nd!

Many thanks go out to Daisy Troop #3576 and Brownie Troop #3393 for helping to keep our school grounds beautiful.  These girls walked around our campus last Monday picking up litter as a service effort to earn a badge.  We really appreciate their help!

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who joined us for the Jaguar Jive last Friday for an evening of fun and dancing!  A great time was had by all in attendance!  Great things are happening at Suwanee!
