Dear Parents,
 
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the effort of all who contributed to our First Annual Arts and International Night held on December 1st! The cultural representation and performances were amazing! Our community participation was outstanding and every session was filled to capacity.
 
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the planning, coordination and execution of this great event. You provided the Suwanee Community with a quality program that allowed for entertainment, showcased student artwork, and cultural education opportunities for students and adults.
 
What a celebration of culture and the arts!

     Curriculum & Instruction from the Assistant Principals

A Standards-based Classroom
 
A standards-based classroom is different than a traditional setting in that there is a specific cycle of teaching. The teacher plans, teaches the lesson, assesses students' learning, and re-teaches to ensure all students are receiving high quality learning opportunities. Before each lesson the teacher provides specific learning outcomes based on academic content standards and shares them with students and parents. Differentiation is a regular part of the instructional setting to ensure all students experience academic successes.

In recognition of an outstanding example of a standards-based instructional setting, we'd like to commend Ms. Oldham and her third grade students on their presentation and implementation of a standards-based classroom!

Counselor's Corner
 
As the holiday season approaches, it has come to our attention that some of our families are in need of support at this time.  If you are able to provide support for a Suwanee family, please pick a snowman off the bulletin board (located by the clinic) and follow the directions on the back of the snowman. 
We will be accepting donations until December 17th.
