From the Principal's Desk |

Dear Parents,
Suwanee Elementary has so many things to be thankful for, our wonderful faculty, our phenomenal parents and most importantly our outstanding students! Last week, I had an opportunity to share our school's story with Marty Allen from the City of Suwanee. Mr. Allen served as our Principal for a Day. Principal for a Day is a joint venture between Gwinnett County Public Schools and the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. The objective of the program is to provide CEO-level business leaders a first hand opportunity to look at the day to day operation of today's public schools and the principals who lead them. It was truly a delight to host Mr. Allen and give him a glimpse of Suwanee Elementary School. On Thursday, November 19th, several 5th grade students from the Suwanee Chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Karen Freeney represented Suwanee Elementary at the annual American Education Week Breakfast hosted by North Gwinnnett High School. These students joined with students from Level Creek, Riverside, White Oak and Sugar Hill Elementary, as well as North Gwinnett Middle, Lanier Middle and North Gwinnett High School to sing the National Anthem and I Hear Sweet Music. We are very proud of these students for the way they represented Suwanee Elementary! I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday break, see you back at school on Monday!!!! Warmly,
Dr. Kimberly Smith

We are proud to present a poem written by one of our 5th grade students in Mrs. Phillips' class. The poem was written by Kaylyn Singleton in recognition of American Education Week. It expresses why she loves Suwanee Elementary School! Kaylyn's poem was shared on the announcements during American Education Week and we would also like to share her inspiring words with the community as well!
Suwanee Elementary
Out there somewhere there's a place hidden by lengthy trees, leafy bushes and pebbled walkways.
It has all the things a child could dream up and all the friends one would ever possibly need. Behind the front doors your future awaits. With all the adventures you'll have inside, this long corridor seems to stretch to the end of the Earth and you will never want to leave. Even when mighty clouds rain on this beautiful kingdom you will never feel a hint of gloom dash through your mind.
All the joy and charm that fills the halls has too big a quantity to count. The grounds on which the students play are not a mere disappointment. We can sit atop the clouds it seems, and almost touch the sky.
All the values you will learn here might surprise you, but shouldn't, this is a wonderful place.
This is Suwanee Elementary, and that is why I love it. ~Kaylyn Singleton
