We would like to announce that Suwanee ES is continuing its partnership with Georgia Natural Gas this school year. Last year GNG contributed over $800 to Suwanee. You can help our school continue to receive contributions from GNG by enrolling as a Georgia Natural Gas customer and designating SES to receive an initial $40 contribution. Or if you are already a loyal GNG customer, all you have to do is select Suwanee as the school you wish to support. Our school will then receive $5 per month while you remain an active GNG customer. It is easy -- all you have to do is go to www.trueblueschools.com and follow the directions on the website. Thank you to all of you who enrolled last school year. We appreciate your continued support!

Suwanee Local School Council |
 The Suwanee Local School Council is currently accepting nominations for membership. We currently have one parent representative opening and two parent/businessperson openings on the Local School Council. A nomination form can be obtained by clicking this LINK. The deadline for turning in nomination forms to the Suwanee main office is Friday, August 28, 2009.
Nominated parents will be listed in the main office as they are received. The election for parent representatives will occur at the main office on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. To vote, you must be the parent/guardian of a current kindergarten through fourth grade student.

Every family is encouraged to sell 3 - or as many as they'd like

They can use the order form on page 6 of Pawprints or just collect money from friends/neighbors and come by the school during one of the following times to turn in the money and pick up the cards:
> Jaguar Café on 8/18 from 9-10AM
> Movie Night on 8/21
> One of the Curriculum Nights on 8/24, 8/25, or 8/27
> Jaguar Café on 9/2, 9/10, or 9/18 from 9-10AM.

Movie Night this week on Friday at 7PM . Join us on the playground for a special showing of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Gates open at 7:00 and the movie will start at dusk. Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the gate. Children 3 and under are free. Zaxby's will have boxed dinners on sale for $4.50. PTA will be selling popcorn, drinks and candy. Special Events network will be selling sno-cones and glow sticks. Advance tickets are on sale through Wednesday of this week.
Want to get more involved? Join us for the Volunteer Interest Breakfast on Tuesday August 18, at 9AM in the Jaguar Café. This is also the Room Representative meeting, so if you've volunteered to be a Room Mom, this is an important meeting to attend.
Spiritwear will be sold at all three curriculum nights. We will have t-shirts (boys and girls - all sizes are available) for $12, water bottles for $4 and customized car window decals can be ordered. |
