Dear Life Centers Family,

    

I am saddened to share with you that our dear sister in Christ, Ruth Aughinbaugh, passed away on Sunday, February 27.  She is survived by her husband, Howard;  daughter, Emily Aughinbaugh (San Diego, CA);  mother, Alvera Haage (Beecher, IL); brother, Reece E. Haage (Townville, SC).

 

Ruth was a treasured team member and friend who served Christ with dedication and compassion.  Our hearts go out to her family and friends at this time of unexpected loss, but we know that Ruth is now experiencing the joy of heaven in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Ruth Ann Haage Aughinbaugh was born February 22, 1950 in Will County, Illinois, to Hans V. and Alvera (Langebartles) Haage.  She graduated from the University of Evansville in 1972 with a B.S. degree in business administration.  Ruth married Howard Aughinbaugh on September 2, 1972.  She was a commercial insurance underwriter for several insurance companies in the Indianapolis area for 36 years, retiring in 2008.

 

Ruth was a member of Northview Christian Church in Danville.  She served for many years as a volunteer peer counselor for Life Centers, and then joined the Life Centers staff in January 2010 as volunteer director of the Avon Pregnancy Center.

 

Debbie Gifford, Life Centers volunteer, said, "Ruth was selfless and caring and would do anything for anyone.  She was a gentle spirit and a hard worker.  She put a lot of extra time in, and she was passionate about the Life Centers ministry."

 

Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 4-8pm, and a Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, March 4, 11am, at Northview Christian Church located at 623 N. State Road 39, Danville, IN.  Flowers may be sent through Davis Floral (317-539-4502) to Northview Christian Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Life Centers, 8902 Vincennes Circle, Ste. A, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

 

Let us pray for the Lord's comfort, hope and peace for Howard, Emily and the family.
