It was an honor to host President Bush, who took us on a "verbal tour" of the Oval Office and exhorted us to continue showing love through our mission.

 

His stories gave us insight into life in and out of the White House. He inspired the crowd with tales about hopeful children in Africa, discussed his interactions with world leaders and the challenges he faced, and brought many to tears as he recounted the day of Sept. 11, 2001. President Bush said that despite the pressures of the office, "Every day was joyous, and I believe it was because of the prayer of fellow citizens."

 

After asking him how we could pray for him and his family, it was a privilege to lift up President Bush in prayer. We thanked the Lord for his stance for life and asked a blessing of joy and awareness of his Creator, as he continues to serve others in new ways on the journey forward.

 

We thank Sandi Patty for sharing her story and personal appreciation for the Life Centers ministry. We thank 2009 Miss America Katie Stam, Congressman Mike Pence, Indianapolis Colts coaches Jim Caldwell and Clyde Christensen, the Heritage Christian High School Colla Voce Choir, and all those involved in producing this special evening. We thank God for all of the pastors, sponsors, and supporters in attendance.
