Lake Michigan, the harbor, Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park and the Taste of Chicago were but a few of the areas available to explore and enjoy in Chicago during the week of the Sixth NAREA Summer Conference. The September eNewsletter features the last group of photos from this year's conference. 
 
The focus in upcoming newsletters will be on other professional development opportunities. Please note below the section about upcoming study tours forming to visit Reggio Emilia and additional initiatives connected to the presence of "The Wonder of Learning - The Hundred Languages of Children" exhibit in Chicago. The 2010 NAEYC Conference takes place in Anaheim from November 3 - 6. Fundamental workshops will be forming for the spring and will be posted on our website. Follow this link if you are interested in getting information about hosting a fundamental workshop.

U.S. Students and Professors Study Group
March 12-17, 2011

This study group is designed specifically for U.S. college and university professors and their undergraduate or graduate students. The program will include:
  • visits to the Preschools and Infant-toddler Centers of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia
  • presentation and analysis of projects realized inside the Preschools and Infant-toddler Centers
  • time at the International Center Loris Malaguzzi to see the exhibitions, the Ateliers, the bookshop and the Documentation and Research Center 
  • dialogue and exchange among students and professors to share information about their own context and coursework at U.S. colleges and universities

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.,
    Thursday from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 5 p.m.

A series of professional development initiatives will be organized
in connection with the presence of the exhibit in Chicago:
September 24-25, 2010: Connecting Theory to Practice Related to Young Children's Learning
October 21-22, 2010: What Does it Mean to Advocate for Children?
November 18-19, 2010: The Role of Culture with Learning
