| Member Benefits - Letter from Chamber President Craig Faust |
What does your Chamber membership means to you and your business? It is a good question to ask when small businesses across the country have been impacted by the economic downturn. However, there are positive signs as we begin to see a leveling-off and business owners are feeling more optimistic. This is particularly encouraging as they have been the leaders out of past recessions for our economy. We truly encourage everyone to do all they can to help support small businesses in our community.
And for businesses - both large and small - their Chamber membership can help. For a majority of small businesses, their Chamber invest is less than $25 per month and the returns far outweigh this minimal amount. These are just a few of the benefits to our business members: YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE BROUGHT TO YOUR DOOR

| Honorary Director - Mary Polletti | Over 20 years ago the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce established an Honorary Director Program. The program's focus is strengthening lines of communication between key community leaders and the Chamber. Each quarter one or more persons are invited to be the Honorary Director, attending Board meetings to serve as a link to businesses, as well as familiarize the individual to the functions of the Chamber.
The Honorary Director selected for the months of June, July, and August is Mary Poletti of Rizzo & Diersen, S.C. Mrs. Poletti is very excited to join the Chamber in all of its efforts. She was born and raised in Kenosha, WI. Mrs. Poletti spent 12 years practicing law and 7 years teaching high school in Virginia. The Poletti family moved back to Kenosha where Mary become associated with Rizzo and Dierson, S.C. | Ambassador Club Activites | The Ambassador Club, as usual, has been busy as of late. They recently helped Platinum Salon & Spa celebrate their Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting celebration. Platinum Salon & Spa is located at 214 S. Pine St., Burlington WI. The Ambassador Club was also at the Re-Grand Opening of Wal-mart in Burlington. Wal-mart was remodeled/reorganized recently and held a ceremony to commemorate this milestone with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Congratulations and Thank You to both Platinum Salon & Spa and to the Burlington Wal-mart on your commitment to the continued success of Burlington businesses and the Community! |
| Community Sidewalk Sales - Citywide Treasures ~ Retail & Rummage |
Community Sidewalk Sales (formerly Maxwell St. Days) will be held the last Friday and Saturday of July, the 30th and 31st. Let's fill the sidewalks!!
This is a great opportunity for retail merchants to get rid of last season's unsold merchandise to make room for the new incoming season! Non-profit groups should consider having a bake sale, a rummage sale, or other fundraiser.
There will be a lot of activities going on during this annual event including bake sales, rummage sales, ice cream social, book sales, vendors, crafts, merchants on the sidewalks and much more! The Burlington Chamber has teamed up with the Burlington Lions club to make this the best Community Sidewalk Sales event to date!
If you have any questions please contact the Chamber at 262-763-6044 or email us. |
