Dear Friends,
Greetings from your friends at the 2:8 House.
We covet your prayer support in the coming days and weeks. God continues to work in and through the lives of our students and us. You will find that we request prayer support in several specific ways in the following articles. We hope that you catch a glimpse of how God continues to work through the recovery process.
We would be happy to meet personally with anyone interested in learning more about how God is at work through the 2:8 House.
Thank you for your vital role on our ministry team.
LOVE WINS.

2:8 Recovery meetings continue through summer
Several students continue to participate in the 2:8 Recovery meetings through the summer months. The regular weekly activities include the Thursday evening meetings, women's and men's step studies and individual appointments.
Several of the students have been working through their spiritual and moral inventories and have been sharing these inventories with sponsors.
Meeting topics include forgiveness, grace, daily Bible reading and preventing relapse.
Please continue to pray that God would continue His healing process in the lives of all involved in these initiatives. |

Season Football Parking passes available again
For the second consecutive year, the 2:8 House has a limited number of parking passes available for OU football games.
"This was a lot of fun last year," Dave Kyncl said. "We host a pre-game meal and provide a place to watch other games before we walk over to the stadium."
Passes are available for $300. Five parking passes remain.
The funds raised help offset the cost of providing the pre-game meal and the cost of season tickets used to introduce others to the 2:8 House.
For additional information, please contact Dave or Craig. |

FInancial need continues
Every year, God provides for the financial needs of this ministry through donations from families and individuals from several states, Nazarene congregations, and Oklahoma districts.
Here are three statistics from the financial report (January through June 27, 2011):
- Donations received total $36,591 (Down $6,034 from 2010).
- Expenses total $46,829 ($3,985 higher than 2010).
- Balance carried forward from 2010: $9,660.($2,062 in 2010).
David and Craig are representing Nazarene Secular Campus Mission with a booth at the Nazarene Youth Conference in Louisville, KY, July 6-11. The denomination has paid for the booth and $950 of the travel expenses, but we estimate an additional $2,200 is needed to cover all expenses. We hare received $300 designated for NYC to date.
We continue to watch all expenditures, and we seek to reduce expenses when possible. We covet your continued prayer support, as God provides for the needs of the 2:8 House.

Considering Additional Property... For the past few months, we have published a column about the possibility of purchasing the University Falls apartment complex, shown above.
This 32-unit apartment complex continues to be for sale, and we continue to seek God's guidance about how this property could be utilized as part of the ministry. The complex is now listed for $1,250,000.
"We covet the prayer support of the friends of the 2:8 House as we continue to seek God's guidance," Dave Kyncl, director, said. "This property could meet a vital need on the OU campus, and the rental income could provide necessary funding for the ministry for years to come."
The University Falls apartment complex would allow the 2:8 House to establish a student community where residents would commit to live drug and alcohol-free. Residents could participate in the 2:8 Recovery program and other discipleship and service opportunities through the ministry.
An initial business plan for this property has been developed with the help of a Chief Financial Officer with a local apartment management company. We have talked with friends in Student Affairs at OU, and the director of student housing at Oklahoma State University has offered continued help with the project.
"We know that God will provide the necessary funding, if He wants us to pursue the purchase of this property," Kyncl said. "Our primary focus remains on seeking Him and His will."
Thank you for your continued prayer support. Click here for a copy of the initial real estate listing. |

| Deuteronomy 32:1-2 (The Message) |
|
Listen, Heavens, I have something to tell you.
Attention, Earth, I've got a mouth full of words.
My teaching, let it fall like a gentle rain, my words arrive like morning dew,
like a sprinkling rain on new grass, like spring showers on the garden.
For it's God's Name I'm preaching--
respond to the greatness of our God! |
