New Ways to Connect: Tables of Eight, Affinity Groups
| | Join or start an Affinity Group; Pick a restaurant and a date for a Table of Eight
ALF Affinity Groups Join a group of ALFers to share in the joy of being with one another and sharing a similar interest. A women's group is in full swing with regular monthly meetings as is a group of African American men, and a group of ALFers in the throes of parenting. Log onto the ALF web site and click "Affinity Groups" under the "For Senior Fellows" tab for more information.
Do you want to start an Affinity Group? Maybe around books, movies, climbing, bowling, or a particular issue? The possibilities are endless. The ALF office can help you get one set up!
Tables of Eight No agenda, no topic, no facilitators -- here's another low-key yet fun opportunity to meet and mingle with a small group of ALFers. You pick the restaurant and the date, the ALF office sends out and tracks the invitations and everyone pays for their own meals. Already lunches have happened in Rocklin and Woodland and a dinner in Sacramento. Why not hold one near you?
Contact the ALF office any time to get started!

A Note About Senior Fellow's Dues... | |
Haven't seen an invoice yet? There's a reason...
The ALF Board of Directors is considering a change of fiscal years to follow a calendar year, a change from the current May 1 through April 30 fiscal year. Also, the development committee is reviewing all funding options and how Sr. Fellows' Dues fit into the overall plan.
The current plan will be to send out notices in December to cover the twelves months of 2011. If you have any questions about this, please contact the ALF office.

Partner Profile: DREXEL UNIVERSITY
| |
A look at one of ALF's Community Partners
It's amazing to think about, but Drexel University only opened the doors to its Sacramento Center for Graduate Studies just 20 months ago.
It seems like it has been ALF's partner from the beginnig. This past year, Drexel not only repeated as a Visionary sponsor of our Exemplary Leader dinner, but was home to the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program that we co-sponsored with Coro, and offered scholarships to every one of its graduates. Drexel made its state-of-the-art facility available without charge to dozens of the region's not-for-profit organizations for educational programs, board meetings, and retreats.
