CHAIR'S MESSAGE: Board Creates Two Committees for Sr. Fellows Activities
|
|
By Betty Masuoka, ALF Board Chair
For the past eleven years, one committee of volunteers has had the charge of developing an engaging Sr. Fellows' program. While committee leadership and membership has changed over the years, the Sr. Fellows' Committee planned issue forums on current topics, brought national-level speakers in for unique, intimate conversation, and put on an array of social activities such as the Summer and Holiday Parties.
With Class XII now on the rolls of Sr. Fellows, we have nearly 275 Sr. Fellows for which to plan activities. Finding the right balance of opportunities has proven challenging, and so, with the blessing of the Sr. Fellows' Committee, the board has implemented a change in the committee structure. MORE

New ALF Web Site Will Connect Fellows Nationally |
|
Connect to Sr. Fellows around the US or opt-out of this feature
Part of the enhanced functionality of our upcoming NEW Website will be the ability for Senior Fellows across chapters to access basic contact information (name, title, organization, preferred email address and primary city and state). We are excited about this opportunity to expand the ALF-MV network to the 2,644 Senior Fellows throughout the United States.
We need to know if you would like to "OPT OUT," meaning Senior Fellows from other chapters WOULD NOT have access to your basic contact information. ALF-MV Senior Fellows would continue to have access to your information, regardless.
Our new website launch is scheduled for this winter, but database work is happening now in preparation. If you would like to OPT OUT of this opportunity to network with ALF Senior Fellows in other chapters, please let us know by Monday, November 30, 2009.
Please send your OPT OUT responses to scot@alf-mvc.org or call the ALF office at (916) 920-5669.

Senior Fellows' Dues: Class III Leads with 80% Paid |
|
ALF depends on its members' support -- many thanks to those who have paid!
Class III has the lead in members paying Sr. Fellows' dues, with Classes VI and VIII right on their heels with 75% paid. If you haven't paid yet, keep an eye out for a reminder invoice coming to your home address. And please consider making an additional gift to support scholarships to the Sr. Fellows program events and the work of ALF.
Dues remain $240 for the year or $120 for Fellows who have moved out of the region, and dues scholarships are also available. You can pay by check or credit card, or consider automatic monthly installments either by credit card or drafted directly from your bank account -- see the enclosures in the invoice mailer or call the ALF office to find out how. You can also pay online.
Thank you in advance for your support. If we can be of any assistance, please contact the ALF office.
