The ALF staff wish you a joyous holiday season and successful New Year!

Here are a few things to keep in mind over the coming weeks to keep up with your fellow Fellows....

ALF Holiday Party This Sunday

candlesLAST CHANCE to RSVP for ALF's Social Event of the Season!

Join us for the ALF Holiday Party, once again hosted by Kris Martin (Class II) and husband Will Middleton at their beautiful home and grounds in Clarksburg, just south of Downtown Sacramento.

Come mingle with your classmates and meet members of other classes, enjoy a cup of eggnog and join in the holiday cheer.  There will be activities for the kids and plenty to eat and drink!  See who's coming and RSVP

Event Follow-up: Sr. Fellows' Retreat Hugely Successful

Sr Fellows Retreat 08Evaluation shows 85% thought Retreat was one of the best ever!

What made it so great?

Well, let's see... Bill Isaacs wowed 'em with a mental rearrangement and a peek into his upcoming new book, dancers wouldn't allow the ALF-All Star Band to end their performance, Jim Mayer of California Forward let us sink our teeth into real issues around our state's many systemic problems (sign up for California Forward's e-newsletter to keep on top of their work), and above all, plenty of time to reconnect and make new friends.

See Stephen Tse's pictures to get a sense of the fun!

January's Third Thursday:
Proposition 8 Unraveled

threadsJoin us for informal conversation around a hot topic of the day!

Thursday, January 15, 5:30 - 7:30 pm, $16  RSVP

The election is over, but the many threads of Proposition 8 continue to be unraveled. At the request of several Fellows we have organized an special 3rd Thursday session at Sierra Health to explore the civil rights and other issues in this controversial proposition.

We will have a Constitutional Law professor from McGeorge, courtesy of Class VIII's Elizabeth Parker, as well as Fellows from all sides of the issue to lead off the discussion. This controversy isn't going to go away any time soon, so join us as we explore ways of coming together for the good of all concerned.
