The ALF social event of the season!
Sunday, June 22, 4-7pm, Home of Kris Martin (Class II) and Will Middleton, Clarksburg
You and your family are invited for the ALF social event of the summer!
Join us for the ALF Summer Party just south of Downtown Sacramento.
Class V's Griselda Barajas will provide the
always-outstanding food and we'll have sodas, beer, and assorted wine
from last year's California State Fair competition for you to sample.
- Boogie down to sounds of the ALF All-Star Band as they return for another highlight performance;
- Bring your swimming suit for a dip in the pool (lifeguard will be on duty for the kids);
- set up the croquet course;
- work on your stroke with the badminton set;
- or just relax on a swing overlooking one of the beautiful Delta's sloughs.
There's plenty of space to roam and chat with your Fellow ALFers -- catch up with old friends and meet new ones!

 Reset the Rhythm: An experiential evening including dinner, conversation, exploration, and a new way to look at how life works with facilitator Julie Interrante, the founder of The Compassionate Arts Project in
Sacramento, who teaches the Art of Compassion to colleges,
health care organizations, corporations and seminaries across the

Discuss the details of the potential ALF trip to Turkey with the Pacifica Institute
June 19th, 5:30-7 pm, Crocodile's at Radisson Hotel Sacramento
The Pacifica Institute will host a trip of ALF members on a cultural and spiritual exchange to Turkey. If you're interested, complete a simple survey, then come to June's Third Thursday discussion to hear more about the trip and find out how you can become involved.

Deadline to submit nomination for Class XIII: June 20The strength of the ALF organization is its Fellows and Sr. Fellows. To increase the value and strenght of the ALF network, the Nominating Committee needs your help! Do you know an excellent community-minded leader who would bring skills and passion to ALF? Don't rely on the members of the Nominating Committee to know them... submit a nomination and describe their qualifications to get the Nominating Committee's attention! And keep an eye out for one of a dozen focus groups meeting this summer -- charged with identifying potential Fellows from geographic, ethnic, and industry-specific communities! We hope you can participate!

| Leader to be honored at ALF Annual Dinner
Deadline to submit Exemplary Leader Nomination: June 27
ALF is also looking for nominations to honor an exemplary leader from the region at our annual dinner in March, 2009. Last year's honoree was California State Senator Darrell Steinberg.
You can nominate an exemplary leader
by submitting their name and a SHORT description (one paragraph; two at the
most) of how you believe the person has been an exemplary leader.
