| Atlantic Street Center Celebrates 100 Years! |
Not many things last 100 years. The life span of the average American is about 78 years. A refrigerator lasts around 15 years. And more than half of small businesses don't make it past the fourth year.
So when you hear about an organization that has been around for 100 years--well, that's something worth celebrating.
Atlantic Street Center is just such an organization. In February 2010 we celebrated our 100th birthday. That's a century of growing and changing to meet the needs of the people of Seattle. We have always had our finger on the pulse of the community, making sure that our services and mission are relevant to the needs of the people we serve. Over time we have evolved from a Settlement House for Italian immigrants, to a community service center for families, and finally as one of just a handful of go-to organizations in Seattle providing effective services for at-risk kids and families of color.
We will hold several events, both big and small, this year to celebrate this remarkable achievement! For more information, please contact John Rivera by email or by phone at 206-329-2050, ext 123. |

| What Will Your Legacy Be? |
More than 80 percent of Americans contribute to nonprofit organizations throughout their lifetimes. But according to research conducted in 2000, only around eight percent of people choose to continue this support through a charitable bequest.
Atlantic Street Center has an important mission. You believe in our mission and have supported us during your lifetime with generous gifts. Have you considered supporting us through gifts from your will or trust?
It's very easy to do. One good place to start is the Leave a Legacy website. There you can find all you need to get started! You can also contact your legal advisor for help. And please don't hesitate to contact our Development Director, John Rivera, for information and assistance. John can be reached at (206) 329-2050, ext 123 or by email. |
