Still Sapphire, a local alternative rock band of females ages 13 to 16, are proud to announce the release of their latest single, "Here We Go."
Commissioned by GGRD, and produced with support from Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, the song is a celebration of anyone who want to be bold, "cut loose," and rock out. The best way to listen to this catchy song: LOUD!
Still Saffire is an alternative rock band featuring four talented young women ages 13 - 16. Based in Nyack, NY, the band has a knack for writing songs that are engaging and relevant, with a sophistication and maturity that belies their youth.
Have a free listen here! A portion of proceeds from all song sales benefit Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls and Gotham Girls Roller Derby, both of which are non-profit organizations serving women in the NYC area.

The Gotham Girls celebrate the grand opening of a new outdoor roller rink , located underneath the north end of the High Line, this Thursday, July 28th.
Come on out for the grand opening -- and get skating tips from your favorite Gotham Girls! The High Line Rink - Made for All by UNIQLO - will be one of the only open-air roller-skating venues in Manhattan, with regularly scheduled theme nights, a pop-up shop called UNIQLO Cube, and other fun public activities for visitors of all ages. The rink is adjacent to The Lot, which includes a rotating series of food trucks, a beer and wine bar, and music for all ages, Bring your wheels to work and pop over for dinner, a skate, and a drink! (until 10pm Sun-Wed, 11pm Thu-Sat). This outdoor rink at 30th Street and 10th Avenue in Manhattan will stay open only from this Thursday through Monday, September 26th. For the first three days of the skating season, free rink admission goes to the first 500 skaters thanks to rink sponsor UNIQLO. Get your tickets now for GGRD's first ever TRIPLE HEADER, a lineup of bouts including the local men's derby team, the New York Shock Exchange. The full afternoon of roller derby is scheduled for August 13th at Brooklyn's Aviator Sports and Events Center. In the opening bout at 2pm, the New York Shock Exchange makes its long-awaited home New York City debut. The Shock Exchange began bouting in 2007 and has dominated the top ranks of the MRDA (Men's Roller Derby Association), winning the association's 2010 national championship. The Shock Exchange and Gotham Girls are excited to present modern roller derby's first-ever co-ed New York appearance. The festival of bouting includes a 4pm rematch of the Wall Street Traitors against the Suburban Brawl from Westchester's Suburbia Ruller Derby. The afternoon's featured bout (6pm) pits the GGRD All-Stars (currently ranked #2 by Derby News Network) against the #4 Denver Roller Dolls. Be there to watch the highest-ranked foe the GGRD All-Stars have faced this season as New York's finest skaters gear up for the fall WFTDA tournaments. Tickets are available now at ggrdtix.com.
The Aviator Sports and Events Center is an exciting new venue for Gotham Girls Roller Derby - come out to Aviator and make a day of it. The afternoon scheduling is GGRD's first local matinee appearance. Aviator includes food, beer, and free parking! Sailor Jerry specials featured during all bouts and at the on-site after party.
Aviator Sports and Events Center is located at the south end of Flatbush Avenue, just south of the Belt Parkway. Subway: 2 or 5 to Flatbush Avenue / Brooklyn College, followed by the Q35 bus to the venue. Fan shuttle busses to and from central Brooklyn are under development; details to be announced shortly.
