GGRD ALL-STARS TAKE THE SKYLINE CUP AT ECE 2010
Gotham teams enjoyed a successful weekend at the annual East Coast Extravaganza hosted by the Philly Rollergirls, June 25-27.

Gotham's skaters locally compete on the Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, and Brooklyn teams, but when skating against other cities, the skaters frequently work together across borough lines on three 'compilation' teams: the All-Stars, the Traitors, and the Meatpacking District.

The weekend started with a bang, as the GGRD All-Stars jumped all over the Windy City Rollers, 191-50, in their fifth consecutive defeat of the skaters from Chicago. The Windy City squad presented to Gotham a new trophy commemorating the big-city rivalry, the 'Skyline Cup,' to be exchanged at all future Windy City / Gotham bouts. This bout followed a matchup between GGRD's Wall Street Traitors and Philly's Independence Dolls, who proved victorious, 112-62.

On Saturday, Gotham's all-rookie squad, the Meatpacking District, continued their winning ways, beating back the Jersey Shore Rollergirls, 58-41, and Saturday afternoon, the All-Stars were back in action, taking down the Boston Massacre, 166-82.

On Sunday, the Traitors notched a big win against the Bootleggers of Raleigh's Carolina Rollergirls, 83-17, and celebrated by tossing manager Hewlett Smackard into the on-site pool. Wrapping up the weekend, the Meatpacking District pounded on the 'Cheeseskates', the rookie squad of the Philly Rollergirls, 73-27.

Thanks to Philly for hosting another great weekend of roller derby!
