By Thomas Gerbasi When the first whistle blows for the Gotham Girls Roller Derby bout between the Manhattan Mayhem and the Queens of Pain this Saturday night at Hunter College, the theme will be one familiar to sports fans - redemption. For Queens, it's an opportunity to get a little "get back" against the team that knocked them out of the GGRD championship game for the first time ever last June by a score of 120-73... The Manhattan / Queens episode will debut on Wednesday night, June 2, at 11:30pm. After initial airings, bout episodes will also be available to stream to your browser via NYC Media's Video On Demand site. Each 90-minute episode features edited bout action, skater profiles, and analysis. Come to the bout and then watch the broadcast for the 'inside scoop' from the players.

On Sunday, May 16, GGRD joined the walk to honor those who continue to fight, to embrace new allies, to remember loved ones lost, and to realize a future without AIDS.
